Shade has not playing for a few rounds now, I imagine in my absence people lack the incentive to really be evil to each other.

I think some people log on only to find that they don't have that much land and then they give up on the round.

I was tempted to do that a couple rounds back when I came back to less than 500 land.  I was able to get back around 2k, but then was killed shortly after.

not nessecarily.
It also thins out opposition/land locks and distracts attention.
And chaos is good ;)
Besdies, even if I WAS serious you'd have to be stupid to follow it since it will help me.
