Apparently Shade has never opened a music-playing device..  there's not much worth stripping, trust me.
A chipset on a silicon board, couple wires, and some speakers.  A nicer one will have some sort of readout
None of which edible.  I guess the magnets in the speakers could provide a few hours of amusement, but not much more than that.
The power supply might be of some limited use, depends on what else you have and how long you plan to live on the island.
