Well, I broke yesterday with leaders, then I realized I could break with skiffs, so i did that instead. ^_^

Still have yet to run today, and I have to work soon, so I'll have to wait until tonight.

I just now broke with my leaders, and I only lost 123 of them.

Well, I'm not going to make any excuses for my suiciding, because I don't regret it, but I don't think this deserves a topic... lol.  What happened was I received an  espy from Taek and somewhat expected some sort of impromptu emperoring, because people always leave troop holes nowadays.  After I sold I couldn't break you and I figured I would help Taek or someone else break you with leaders because it would take no resources for me to significantly lower your ratio.  I think people are more prepared now for some people reverting back to the "old" style of being defensive of land instead of leaving troop holes for land passing and being offensive.

That might have just been a bunch of rambling or whatever... idk 

edit:  oh, and I think the people not leaving troop holes may end up going back to leaving troop holes.  This is because I believe sustaining equal amounts of troops will always be defeated by someone massing stoats, or another troop type, but the person without troop holes will be left without excess capitol and food resources.  That generalization is for the average indier I guess...

You're right up to to a point. The thing about resources isn't true at all if you are careful and earn in order, and the bit about monostackers always winning is only true if those monostackers have either the land to make that stack (which thy dont, if the defender is doing his job right) or the resources to support an existing stack long enough to break (which a typical indy rarely has). So I don't think defense is impossible, I just think that it's difficult enough that most people don't think it's worth it.

I like defense, and I want to bring it back as part of normal gameplay. I will be teaching anyone who wants to do the same how to run a solo defensive indy if they ask me for it, and I will work on a solo defensive leader strat once I've perfected the indy version. Wall clan is open, and anyone who wants to learn can join, pass is pie.
