It was as much a test of how people would respond to a lost noob trying to play just a bit confident and the results seem to me lke moe people were intrested in driving him away then teaching him. I was the only person who offered him, and I was him :D you even insulted him over his spelling ability. His profile says 10years old, so did you expect immaculate spelling? This is the message we're giving to new people "if you're young, new, have spelling dificultis and are confident we'll drive you away!"

They are far from unprovoked, he and firetooth have been at it for ages and I strongly doubt withewr remembers how it started. As for the rest, meh, I've stopped caring too much about what people think about me as far as forums go. All the movement and change in my life recently has put things in perspective for me, and getting in arguments on forums just doesn't seem that important at the moment.

Give or take the odd murder we do actually work together on either vint or CB on valall but one of us (usually me) loses intrest and we can never get anyone else to play :(

shakespeare is loathed by nearly all english students and i doubt if he's work wasn't forced on me or others i highly doubt many people would have read it.

Oh my goodness. Shakespeare lived in the 16th century. His literature and plays were the first of its kind! It set the standard for the millions of works of literature after that. Not to mention he added over 1000 words to our English vocabulary. It may seem boring and predictable now, but that's because SO much literature has been based off of his ideas.

There were two points, actually, and neither of them were good, especially the completely irrelevant one about Shakespeare.  For example, it appears Firetooth is not aware that there has been centuries old debate between scholars about whether the man Shakespeare actually wrote the plays he's credited with today.  It's called the Shakespeare authorship question, and numerous books have been written about the subject.  For an overview, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakespeare_authorship_question#Shakespeare.27s_literacy

If Firetooth is going to try to cite Shakespeare as support here he should at least make the effort to be aware of some basic facts.

As for judging people on their spelling on a message board, that's no different than judging people by the language they use in conversation, the way they treat other people, the company they keep, the way they do or do not take care of themselves and their hygiene -- which I'm sure both you and Firetooth do on a daily basis, whether you admit it or not.  And note I'm not talking about posts with words occasionally mis-spelled.  I am specifically talking about a certain type of post that indicates the poster has made no attempt whatsoever to make his or her post legible and as free of mistakes as possible; has made no attempt to read it over and make corrections; has made no attempt to even spell out words like "you;" and in short has made no attempt to communicate in an educated manner.  If you're too young or uneducated to know how to spell words like "forum" -- or too lazy to learn or to make the effort to make posts easily readable and understandable -- than you don't belong on the internet, and you certainly don't belong on a Redwall message board site that is ultimately based off a series of books, i.e., literature.

Some people are just bad with languages. My best friend can barely put a sentence together, yet he is one of the most intelligent people I know in other areas, like math. He can do calculus in his head that I have a hard time doing on paper. So if he decided to post here his posts would look a lot like these illiterate people you are judging, but in all likelihood he is far more intelligent than yourself in the area of mathematics, among other things. So no, judging people by their spelling is completely useless beyond to establish whether or not they can, in fact, spell properly. So some people here can't. We can all see that well enough without you pointing it out to us in every thread. You also tend to try to avoid the central idea of someone's arguments by saying that it is irrelevent what they think if they can't spell it out properly, which just implies that you have no real comeback. I'd bet that the vast majority of your posts in the last month are all aimed at attacking someone based on their ability to spell, which is completely pointless and unoriginal, and is frankly a waste of space that tends to take a discussion far off topic. Rather like this one.

As for the Shakespeare debate, I could care less and won't involve myself in that argument.
