Because of the current nature of the game, do you think that you should be able to attack someone who is in your clan?

The Lady Shael

Mm, definitely not. It really doesn't make a sense to launch an attack on a friend/clanmate. If your goal is land, then there are other ways that we can come up with to help land becoming a flowing resource through the clan. I think I just stole Peace's words from a staff development topic...anyways, we've only discussed this, not really come up with any detailed ideas.

RWLers, your wish is my command...as long as it complies with the rules.

That sounds good to me. What did you have in mind?

Saladin

My clan leader booted me and then attempted to grab. Is that acceptable in "RWL etiquette?"

only if you agree to it prior

Well, there's a "Buy Land" feature that's already been written, it's just not enabled right now. Could easily change that to be used only within your clans. That's just an idea, not even one we've discussed. I'm not sure what else is reasonable...a land storehouse? Shared acres? (that'd be complicated)

Leave it as is - giving clans the ability to share acres without attacks can be abused in oh so many ways.

Very true. You could essentially multiply the value of land by 1300% if you shared acres.

But still, I think that there should be a way that land can be passed from one person to another within a clan. (perhaps X trades every X often sending X percent of total land?)

Alazar is Back

I think that the land sharing would be a sweet theme for a round. It would promote working together, maybe we could do that next storehouse to increase the amount of people participating...

That actually sounds pretty good. Next time we have a duels round, if each clan had shared land, there would be stronger competition and more reason to lock land.

I'm not so sure how the lesser players in the game would like it though. That round would probably be very strategy intensive.

Shadow

With land sharing, I could completely lock the game down on food net alone in under a week if I had a good partner. It's simply too overpowered.

But if everybody were sharing land with everybody else (hence only doing it during a duels round) than locking land would be harder, but still very important to the game.

Locking land wouldn't be harder, it would be a joke.

How about this... share percentages of land? If the clan leader enables it, warlords can share their land, but reap partial profits. There should be a spell as well--based on the total land and total NW of the clan, and would be active for a single hour at a time. Something like this...

If Player A has 50k acres, B has 50k acres, and C has 50k acres, and they're all in a clan, the clan has 150k acres total, no? Now, if they all turn on sharing, say 10%, that means any single player running will have 60k acres available--but it's 10% of each allies' land, so if one is running a food-massing strat and one is running a market strat, 5k acres will be foragers and 5k acres will be markets, in addition to whatever the player has themselves. They can't change that shared land. Now, to stop abuse, you can only reap a 75% benefit off of that additional land--meaning that it's 50k land plus the maintenance and other costs of the additional 10k land, but only 7.5k worth of production from them.

How about that? 10% land shared, 75% of the shared land's production, and an expensive spell to make use of that land.

I think the beauty of prom games is keeping it simple enough that new players can figure it out while providing enough room for refinement that the top players are still interested. I think your suggestion takes it too far down the road of confusing advanced playing. Land sharing simply isn't viable because of all the potential abuses.
