I see that, but if I have a certain amount of leaders, say 8m. You then capture 5m of them, and I run and loose about 2m of them, leaving me 1m leaders.

But if I dont get captured, and start with 8m, I will end up with 6m.

Thats how I see it.

Only one problem with all of that. I have never nor could i ever capture 5mil leaders without attacking you like 100 times i dont know the exact math but it would be alot. I guarantee you that the most i have ever taken is 1.5mil.

21 captures takes about 40% of their leaders I believe.

The thing about captures is if someone starts capturing you, you usually start capturing others too.

What happens, is you get this kind of float, where there is a certain % of leaders that just keep going from player to player as they get captured... Ultimately, it can actually be beneficial because it makes it easier to have a high ratio. It also weakens Stoats main advantage. But I find the benefit works in a somewhat exponential way. The players who are good at it, become really good. Players who aren't very good/very heavy attacks will become extra bad. So it splits players to the opposite poles.

My tips when people ask me how to stop captures are to put up a defense, try using towers, and start capturing back!

You'll get less land and more leaders, ultimately i think that about evens out. It is especially beneficial for wolves, as they have +30 leadership, which adds more loyalty when you have more leaders!

I can't think of much else to say about capture....

OH! A devilish way for an indy to be cruel to a leaderer (say in retal for some murders mayhap??). Is to start capturing from the leaderer, and then letting the leaders die off. Wolf Bite started doing that the last time he took someone down (i honestly forget who he was taking down, was it me?!?!?). So since the leaders die off, the leaderer has a hard time getting them back! It would work especially well when taking down a clan *coughi>leaguecough*.

And also, for a indy who wants to put up a good leader defense, When I was playing as a lizard, I would often leave the last 100 turns free so i could build say 40-50% huts and then do a capture on someone i know has a lot of leaders! This means you can get close to an 80 leader/land ratio. Then you can build guard towers (they give some sorta leader defense i forget what), and set your leaders to 100% in troop training. You've got a good shot! and if a leaderer decides to use leader attacks to get the land from you, they'll suffer great losses because of it!

Hmmm....

I think thats all i know about capture.

[edit]

Oh ya, Emperors often have TONZOODLES of leaders ('cause i find it's lame when you break an emp from leader suicides!), which actually gives leader races an advantage (which in this case is useful, since indiers are WAY better of making use of tons of land immediately, and thus benefit from break the emp LOTS). So ya, the leaderer gets a capture in after breaking the emp, and he's pretty much already got a 175 ratio... awesome? ya!

Before you capture someone, take a shot with only group 1 set to capture. That way if you're gonna fail the capture, you'll hopefully succeed the other 3 groups for a regular hit.

If you're having a hard time getting more then just the first 2 groups breaking with capture, thats because they probably have troop training set to Guards. Setting group 4 and 3 to capture would work better then 1 and 2 because Guards protect group 1 most, and 4 least/not at all.

I think thats all then!
