Revenge of the land farm

I have a strange idea for a turbo sometime in the future.  It is called the ?Immortal.? It still needs some work and adjustments, but what do you guys think?

A special account is set up that has 2 times the abilities of all the other races.  This account would be admin ran (either Peace or myself). It will be immortal because it will also be a land farm.  It will be immune from any leader attacks including being spied on.  It will have no friends and no allies.  It cannot send or receive aid.

Each day the immortal will come on line at a random time and start attacking people in the top ten.  Each horde it attacks it will do so in the way that seems to harm that person the most, but will attack each person in the top ten 3 times and the top five 4 times.

The Idea for this is that it will keep down the normal top players down to let some of the newer people not have as much of a net difference between them.  The top players will not be able to win by diplomacy since they will always have one enemy.

I know, still a rough idea.

I think it's a great idea, would stirr things up a bit

I also think that we could wait a bit though, and contact all of our normal lower turbo payers, give them strats, give them chances to be as good as the top 10.

And then, some of them will be great, and some of them will be okay, and then we can use this thingy to even all the players out a bit.

Humm, that is a different idea, which is not bad. What about giving more power to those that are not in power?

Ranks 1-5 normal race powers
Ranks 6-10 receive 1.25 times race powers
Ranks 11-15 receive 1.50 times race powers
Ranks 16-20 receive 1.75 times race powers
Ranks under 20 receive 2 times race powers.

A person will need to be very good to stay on top of this.

A few things would need to be changed to make it work.  The market would need to be gone so people don?t just stash away their goodies.  And Aid will need to be limited so people don?t just toss around their stuff to stay low during turns. Maybe adding that firing on higher ranks the difference is doubled before there is a penalty?

I could think of a way to manipulate it to my advantage. It's quite simple really. Be a stoat, get ungodly amounts of leaders, and make cash the the whole round. Cash has little NW value, so I would stay down in the ranks, unstealable by almost everyone, until the last day when I used my cash to buy everything in sight, and then indy for all my turns. It would be effective, but I don't know exactly how effective.

Only problem with that strat is...with no market you must rely solely on what the "Mercenaries Market" has available to you....Once you buy that you have to wait a prolonged period before another vast quantity of mercs/food would be available to you again...

Though, that could also be an advantage to you in that you buy it all nobody can get anything until its restocked...However, you can not guard the mercs 24/7 and therefore basing strategy clearly off that is highly risky especially in that many might try this same strat now, however its unlikely..

Uhh, right and wrong.  The first part is right that you will be limited to buying your own mercs, which will not be enough to make the top.  Your plan will not work and you will be stuck with a bunch of cash.

Scarwake was forgetting how the mercs work.  Mercs are not shared.  Everyone has their own based on how much land they have and how long they keep it.

ahh, oops...well it was my guess I did not fully understand the way the Mercenaries part of the market works, but either way the general effect still applies.

The market adds into your networth now, so I don't think people would feel compelled to stash it away there.

We would not be forced into clans, so keeping aid around might be good to promote clans. If "stuff-tossing" becomes too powerful, we would take that back out a week or so into the round.

We could also change the #s around so that your +race bonuses are based off your networth, compared to the networth of the guy in first.

Also, would we ever have to worry about people selling for more than they could buy, if the prices got too high?

White Fang

No, that wouldn't come up as an issue, since the adjustments (+ or -) on mercs works both ways: so if you had a double increase to selling prices, you'd also have a double increase to buying prices.

The so-called "troop loop," however, might end up being very viable in such a scenario.

Gen. Volkov

Well, I was under the impression that the mercs were based off NW. However, I don't really have to wait until the very last day. A few days before would give me the time to buy out mercs, wait for it to restock, then buy out again. But if mercs are based off land and not NW, then it takes a bit more to work around it. I could still do it though. Once I have the ratio, even if I jump, if I use no turns, I won't lose it. I can also indy some to get troops, that stored cash can also be used that way.

You know, it is worth a try. But at least it is not a sure fire way around.

QuoteWell, I was under the impression that the mercs were based off NW

Unless something changed since the olden days, amount of Mercs is based on the land you have. You can have a high amount of troops in mercs tho, even when you have low land, if you haven't bought since losing land. As soon as you buy them, it goes down again. I never remembered the math.

Things still the same?
I will not deleted this

Gen. Volkov

I don't think that's changed Holby, I think I was just confused because NW and mercs always seem to correlate for me, but land usually correlates pretty well to my NW as well.

Yeah, it's not surefire like I thought, but it certainly worth a shot.
