What would you guys suggest to a new player who needs some in-game financial help?

Yeah, pretty much, or be a Marten with a Wolf feeding you loyalty.

Easy, you just build all markets and sell all of your armies. :-P

check the tax rate, make sure all land is built on, check % of what they are building, don't build towers (until they have the hang of it), let turns fill to full before using, drop to one one type of army.

my mods to marten has helped a lot. i haven't had aaany loyalty problems this round
