fail has 2 syllables - the stress is on "fay"

Not according to the dictionary. One syllable word. Same with the thesaurus. If you are pronouncing it wrong, that's not my problem, but English word "fail" is only one syllable. Pronounced "feyl".

it reads the same from back to front
as start to finish

eg. (and i didn't write this obviously :-P)
