that made no sense

and the crack about the target demographic, is accually true
record companies have found that young teenage girls make the most requests of most radio station, and on average, buy more concert tickets and albums then anyother demographic at this time. So the record companies find the music that is most popular with the said demographic, and manufacture music and bands around that sound to cater to the said demographic. Hinder is one such band

i understand this but, that is like saying metal is only for drug addicted freaks, because that is the demographic that buys the most and requests it the most, you have done nothing but stereo type! So what if alot of teenage girls like it???

you still don't get it

most metal is not at all manufactured, reason being, simply there is no money in it.
It's not a radio friendly genre. There are however a few 'fad' metal bands that are.
Hinder is a 'fad' rock band, manufactured to capatalize on a current, yet fading, fad that happens to big with young teenage girls. And so, their music is ment to cater to what those young teenage girls wanna hear.
When the fad passes, so will Hinder pass into forgotteness.
All genres have 'fad' bands. It's not a steriotype, it's business. And yes, music at a professional level is big business.

There are a few, like Metallica and Guns n' Roses that came along at just the right time to enjoy both huge commercial success and be liked by the metalheads out there, but they were the real thing, they had serious musical talent and they're songs meant something. Alot of people say Metallica sold out when they made "The Black Album", but I would disagree, it was a different sound for sure, but the same attitude and musical ability was there just like it always had been. "Enter Sandman" is a great song. Not as good as "One" in my opinion, but still a very good song.

Hinder is not one of those bands though, it's manufactured music, and it's current popularity is just as artificial. Five years time, it will be just be another band that people will talk about and ask "Whatever happened to them?"

Metallica on the other hand is still going strong, 24 years after it's founding. New album set to come out next year. Heard clips of a few of the songs that will be on it, and from all indications, it's NOT going to be another St. Anger. Alot more like the early Metallica. Kirk Hammett even has guitar solos!

I doubt that very highly.

There are two knew songs, just called, "That new song" and "That other new song" both are pretty good. "Ecstasy of gold" is a great one, though it's not really new, they've been playing it at the beginning of every concert since 1983. "So what" isn't that new either, I first heard back in '03, unless it's a different song than the one I'm thinking of. The two new songs both have guitar solos. Eddie Van Halen was one of the best hard rock/metal guitar players ever, so no wonder you like him.

almost every fad in music was started by a non-manufactured band, that had a major break out and hit the big time with their songs. That starts the fad, then a slew of other bands will pop up emulating their sound to try and capatalize on that fad.

The Fad Hinder is riding on, was started by Creed and Nickleback. Neither were manufactured to begin with, though Nickleback did commercialize their music (which could be called selling out). Creed had their break out, and then Nickleback commercialized their sound to resemble Creeds (not gonna say it was intentional).
After seeing the huge success of Nickleback, a slew of bands popped up, emulating their sound, hoping to catch a piece of the fad. Amoung them were, Default, Theory of a Deadman, and Hinder (amoung a shwack of others) and most of these bands are accually produced by Chad Kruger of Nickleback

The point was this: the people who are really into a fad never think that the fad will die.

For them, maybe the fad really will go on forever...

But.
I'm not even sure who Hinder are. I don't think they'll last long, kids. Sorry.

Some people liked the Backstreet Boys but not N'Sync, but they were still part of the fad.
