I'm not interested in a strat that depends on someone else as a crutch

Then switch to loyalty massing. Just mass it up, and then spend the last 7-8 rounds pressganging.

Keep in mind that some of these strats are supposed to promote teamwork.

Shadow

too much switching around - the bonus changes would allow a single part strat rather than a lot of annoying switching

taek kid's got it, thats the idea behind the race. I took another look over the races a few weeks ago and we made some minor balance changes on the test server, so maybe you'll see this race as more useful next round. Remember, the point of the races isn't supposed to be so that every race fits your playing style.

Shadow

well the purpose of these posts was to get feedback on how to improve/balance out the races. This is my 2 cents, and I'm the only one using a wildcat this round, which pretty much goes against my usual playing style. take it or leave it

ya, no worries your suggestions are always appreciated

The new fix i'm going to be testing on the tester server for wildcat is to multiply the pressgang output by unit multipliers. This means since you train more rats, you should get more rats, and will make all the unit outputs fair and possible for their strategy.

If this multiplication give way too many of each unit, they will be divided a bit, but basically you should be getting the same amount of skiffs you do now, but more stoats, and way more rats. in order to make it equal. Keep in mind it will still depend on your unit training settings.

Also, i'm planning on making it take way less turns to build.

Shadow

excellent

when will the changes happen?

I'm still not sure that will bring the wildcat up to speed. Maybe if we also made it so that it takes 15% of your workers, then we might see wildcat equal to indy.

What I would like to remind you of is that since you either need someone feeding you loyalty or you need loyalty stored up for this strat to work, it should probably be 10-20% stronger, since you can indy endlessly without aid from others.

Shadow

the strat im using already beats indy for skiff massing as a solo strat

with these updates the wildcat will be the new stoat

hmm, care to share?

Actually the loyalty will stay the same for wildcat for 2 rasons:

1. and most important, there are downsides to EVERY race (still workin on stoats), adapting a strategy that minimizes that is key, and it's also a reason diplomacy is key in this game (not that an indy strat doesn't work with wildcat, my strat right now is working very well)

2. frig i forgot #2... okey well number 1 was good enough

oh ya! #2 was combined with #1. Wolfs and stoats make excess loyalty, wildcats make too little. Rats and lizards are often short food - other races make excess food... it's all part of the ebb and flow of the game. Having less loyalty doesn't make wildcat unable to compete.

These changes will hopefully go into the next turbo.

As far as i can see pressgang is broken
I have almost 300k workers.
Acording to this topic i should get about 30 troops per pressgang.
I am only getting a measly 8k stoats from it.
Are there other variables other than the troops multiplier.

Edit
Ok so i figured what it was kinda.
I tried it with rats and it gave me 30k rats
but its 10% of your workers so why did it only give me 8k stoats
It should have given me around 24k using the troop multiplier.
Watching people fight is fun...
...but getting involved is so much better

If it gives you 30k rats with Rat training on 100%, it should give you 15k weasels, 7.5 stoats, and 3.75 skiffs when each is set at 100%. That way it's all balanced between troop types.
I will not deleted this

The Obliterator

How?
Isn't it supposed to trun 10% of your workers into troops counting the bonus for each.
As it stands now it is not very usefull
