leader races have no need for workers.

and they can still buy enough mercs for them to be able to do as well as the indy races.


this isn't a huge nerf, in fact it's the only nerf i've ever added to this game but i think it's crucial.

I just figured out how to even out some of the races.

I'm sure that you are all familiar with the race offence/defence bonuses right?

What if leader o/d were added? We could keep most everything where it is now, only stoats would get a really poor defence score, and a nuetral or negative offensive score.

Other races (like wolf) could be given a really high offencive score, where races like lizard could be given a high defensive score.

wolf has a low one, because they arent meant to be offensive, stoats have a high one because they are...

I think he's trying to figure out ways to make the stoat not the most powerful in the game without significantly weakening stoat. If we strengthen the other races to the point that they are, in their own strategies, playing at an even level with stoat, I think it will make the game a lot more fun.

You know how when you do a regular attack, there are race multipliers that effect the outcome?

Well, when you do leader attacks, there should be multipliers that effect the outcome.

Example: yourleaders/yourland * health * (your race multiplier (leader offensive score) > thierleaders/thierland * health * (their race multiplier (leader defensive score)

I know thats not even close to how it really works, but its an example.

yes, i can see what you're getting at. but i don't think that would even things out. because first of all stoat would /have/ to have a better offense with leaders then wolf because of how their races work. Also, the reason stoat is so powerful isn't just because they're offensively and defensive superior with leaders, but because they can make so much resources.

there are many ways to even out a game. When i decided to do it, i figured i would do it by raising all the other races to the level that the best ones were already at, that way nobody would be upset about their favourite race suddenly being weaker.

The other options are to weaken (nerf) the stronger races down to the suckier levels.

Or, you can even races out by making them all more similar to each other. So if i were to change the O/D of stoat so that it were weaker offensive and wolf were stronger, then that would make them both nulled because they'd be the same.

My attempt is to make all the races unique, right now there are specific strategies that each race can use and excell with. All of which are counterbalanced by the other races. It's just a matter of a little bit more tweaking to get them all evened out (i expected as much)
