You'd be surprised to know how many Christian bands are in the main stream today. My personal favorite is Chevelle. ANd I agree, usually C-Rock is awful.

I think Christian bands and christian rock are two different things. Christian rock is where you take pop songs and stick Jesus in for Love. A christian band is a band who happens to be christian, but doesn't focus their music on it. But Chevelle and Switchfoot don't compare to the stuff I listen too even so. They just don't have the sheer talent of Sabbath, Guns n' Roses, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Metallica. (Metallica definitely is better than chevelle and their ilk, but ranks last among those greats I just mentioned.. still my favorite badn though. :))

actaully I agree with Volkov, Project 86 doesn't really sing about Jesus or god, but they are really good people and stuff. I just got back from their concert, coolest show I have ever been to, their singer's sweat was flying on my face, lol. if you listen to some of their stuff you won't think they are christian rock, I didn't know they were christian for a really really long time. go to purevolume.com/project86 and listen to Spy hunter or Sincerely, Ichabod or something.

They are more like a very hard rock band that all their words can get through the filters. I don't think they even talk about god or ask others to.

Who said you have to sing about killing people and drugs to make good hard rock?

Not me. You can get all the bands I mentioned lyrics through the filter. The only thing that distinguishes good from bad for me is the talent of the band members, how well they can play, and how good the lyrics are.
