I almost never compress my turns output. I need to know how exactly my empire is doing at the start and end of a turn run. Which gave me a bit of an idea... Display around 10-20 turns spread throughout a longer run. For a run of 100 turns, this would mean that only every 5-10th turn would be printed on the screen. This would take the place of the existing "condence output" option.  It would be completely self-ajusting, and give more useful information than simply the grand toatal loss/gain of stuff through the run.
