One terabyte of storage on a DVD sized disc. With a transfer rate forty times that of a DVD.

[EDIT: For those who don't know, a terabyte is 1000 gigabytes.]

QuoteNihon Keizai Shinbun reported earlier this week that NTT, Fujitsu and the Japanese Government are forming a working group to develop internet technologies that will hopefully allow homes to receve 10 gigabit internet connections by 2010.

there reaches a point where internet speed no longer matter..  if it's the difference between a 3 second and a 1 second download, then who /really/ cares?

But, if such brodband can become cheap and widespread, filesizes will grow too, as there will be a market for such files.

Yeah, and you gotta admit that it'll be nice that for just about everything, it'll take you longer to decide where you're going to put the file once downloaded, than to download it itself...
