Nihon Keizai Shinbun reported earlier this week that NTT, Fujitsu and the Japanese Government are forming a working group to develop internet technologies that will hopefully allow homes to receve 10 gigabit internet connections by 2010.

But, if such brodband can become cheap and widespread, filesizes will grow too, as there will be a market for such files.
