And there's always Alaska, but we can't displace the deer. It would scare them and cause a break in breeding patterns and cause the extinction of every living thing in Alaska!

'Communist' was a title given to the enemies of Capitalism... but in reality, the Soviet Union, China just after the end of the revolution, as well as Cuba were nothing more than a watered down version of socialism that leaned toward dictatorship...

Well... you cant really give examples from the past because nothing of these has ever happened before... comparably, the Romans brought the Republic to most of the known European world, but they were flawed, and eventually knocked off by a horde of angry Germans who had been knocked off by a horde of angry Huns.

Europe cut down most of its trees at the time of the industrial revolution.. they started using coal. The population will adapt when oil goes away.
