What is a drow?

 I want to know what a drow is, but I would rather hear a RWL-er say it than get something off google. Anyone know?

 Well, I am almost certain it is some sort of creature like an elf or a gnome, because it is a race in Promisance.

 I think it's something along the lines of a 'dark' elf. Evil elves that like live underground, not sure.

I think that is right. But whenever I search on Google, I get this weird stuff related to some computer game with drows. Maybe I should ask on a promisance forum.

 Lol, I looked at IFman's answer before he posted it. The only thing that could have been helpful was "Chaucer" who wrote Canterbury Tales. Maybe there are drows there.
