I'm so tired of being lost in a world,
Where no one can find me.
I want to break free of the cage,
That has been enclosing me for too long.
I know that I am alone and no one will save me,
So I am to escape for myself.
I wander down a path,
That will go on for eternity.
I shall never reach the end,
I am trapped no matter where I go.
Though I finally manage to reach the end,
I must fight the monster inside of me to pass.
It is filled with so much anger, hate, and despair,
The only antidote is love, courage, and hope.
The three things I do not have,
And never will.
It is there that I give up,
I have nothing left but myself.
So I lay down forever,
Never going to get up again...as I fade away from all existence.

A Fable

Several woodland creatures were walking past a cave and heard a snoring noise coming from the cave.  The animals were curious about the sound and went to ask the owl.  The owl said "I've heard that a monster called a Bear lives in the cave.  I have never seen one but, I'm told that they eat meat!  Be careful."

A week later the elk was walking past the cave and the bear's head was poking out into the sunshine.  "Good morning,"  said the bear.  The elk was not going to be fooled by the bear's trick, so the elk dashed away and told the other animals how treacherous the bear was while pretending to be nice.

Later that day a rabbit walked by the cave.  "Good afternoon to you," said the bear. "Earlier this morning I saw a mighty muscular elk walk by."  The rabbit ran in fear and  told his friends that the bear noticed how much meat to eat the elk carried on his body.

Still later in the day a brave deer came to the bear's cave to see if the bear was indeed a monster.  "Hello,"  the deer called.  "Good evening," the bear responded.  The deer asked "We are wondering what kind of food you eat?"  The bear laughed.  "I eat berries!"  The deer fearfully ran into the forest to tell his friends that the bear admitted it himself--that he eats baby bears! (bear-ies)

The moral of this story is: When someone is expecting to hear something, they usually will.
