What instrument do you play?

 Our sax's aren't better than our trombones... they blast out the band a lot. All but one or two of our trombones are good, the others are just plain bad...

And most people do like the woodwind sound better, Peace, because it is almost always the melody, and when the brass has the melody, it isn't normally for long. Brass does tend to blast, or at least some brass players do, for example the two horrible trombones I mentioned earlier. I wish I could cut them from band...

My band is good, though, 7th in the state in a town of around 15,000. And the Junior High band is better than some high schools in my area. *stops rambling*

And your actually wrong about the woodwinds having the melody. in almost any composition arranged or written for bands, the trumpt has the melody for the majority of the time. Trombone usually has the same part as the tenor sax. tenor still sounds better ;)

oh, and just because your trombones sound better then your saxemephones, doesn't mean they sound better then me! hahahahahaha, oh man my ego hurts

 I play the keyboard/piano (by ear and by note). There are so many instruments I wish I could play though.

Drums, alto sax, bass, acoustic guitar....

 I'm not in a band yet, but in middle school I will be playing the trumpet.

 psht....trumpet is HARD, I don't like trumpets....they're confusingly confusing....too hard to get a sound out.....Now, clarinets, saxs, drums, pianos, guitars, etc....I can do those....simply because clarinets and saxs use reeds and its A LOT easier than that mouth piece thingy where your like trying to spit out your lungs....Drums you use your hands and music is easy to read for them.....Pianos and guitars are easy once you know the correct fingerings....muches funs

Don't switch to sax, trombone is better... by a long shot...

Edit: BTW, Peace, strings can't do TRUE glissandoes... only trombones can do a true glissando because of our slide.
