 The "help" is good in the game. But to give you a fast idea ....

Not only are there differant armies to attack with, but there are leaders (sometimes wrongfully called wizards).  They have a fully differant way of attacking and can help to gain food and money fast when needed.  The huts build more of them.  As a new player in the lower ranks, about 10% of your land in huts will gain you enough leaders to make some fast money when needed.  You should learn the armies first and not worry about tring to make your leaders attack as of yet.  When more expereanced, they play a much bigger role.  "Stoat Academy" is a magic only the stoat race has to make leaders come to their huts faster.

To contact any clan it is easy.  In game on the scores page you will see the clan names next to the players, those are now links (thanks retto).  Click on a clan that interests you and you will be pulled to a page that the clan gives some informaiton about its mission in the game.  Next to that information will be the leaders of the clan from highest to lowest.  Next to each name there is an "(m)" that will send you to your mail box with that person's name already set up to send mail to them.

Once you enter a clan, you must stay for at least 3 days.  I hope you like the clan you join and stay for your full time.  But because it is a commitment, ask the Leaders of the clans what rules, if any, they have and what they are willing to do for you.  

My apologies to the clans that also teach for not have listed them above.  Most do not advertise so I did not know who else did.  As co-founder of Loren and long time member of the Blades, I tend to know their workings.  I also know how hard AD of Winter will work to help.  That is why I listed only those 3.  I think you will be fine with any of the ones that have posted or the ones I have listed.
