 Ok, what does everyone want me to spin(play) at Redcon? I'm downloading some celtic and other songs, but I want to know what you guy's want.

 Randaq, hush....Your getting a bit too strict on what should be played in terms of music....You gotta realize we can't have stuff to exactly our(the staff's) desires, otherwise its gonna bore the stuffing out of everyone and nobody is gonna have fun...
Let guest voice their opinions on what should be played and we'll review it when its all compiled, sound good?

 Yeah, well I don't see why you are trying to organise the music for this so early. We don't even have the RedCon confirmed yet. And we won't for at least another 9 months.
No offense, Kami, but music should be one of the last things on our mind right now for RedCon. I still haven't even heard back from all the Staff or even got a list of the VIPs, not to mention their e-mail addresses so I can add them to the mailing list. It would also be nice if someone could contact BJ. I suppose I could, but I know that I wouldn't be able to speak to him on a level that he would probably consider normal.
It makes more sense to me to organise the music around the events at the actual Con. And since we don't know the layout of events at the Con, how can we organise music. Sure, go ahead and compile a list of songs. But remember, the songs have to be able to fit the themes of the Con.

 Ran, I'm currently working on getting songs from the genres that you requested. But you do seem to be rather tense on it all.... And if Redcon isn't even confirmed yet, then whats with the site? Whats with the staff? Whats with the forum?

 Kami, until we actually meet up and discuss the event properly, book the hotel/convention room, talk with the managers of the venue about activities, organise all the special guests, start advertising, and sort out ALL the other technical problems: NOTHING IS CONFIRMED!
This could all collapse in on us while we are half way through. Now I don't want that to happen, so that's the reason why certain things need to settled before other certain things. So far, those things aren't settled.

The Site- To get the word around that we are trying to organise this Con.
The Staff- To show that we are, at least, trying to put forth an organisational team, rather than just a dream.
The Forum- The place to discuss the POSSIBLE event. Where else do you think it could be organised when we all live so far away from each other?

Chill! Someone has to think about this stuff, and being at least a little bit started on compiling all of the stuff now is better than scrambling to throw together something half-baked later. Like he said, he has to go and find all of the music that's being requested/suggested by people. It doesn't hurt anything, does it? Stop fighting. This whole Redcon idea is about us getting together and solidifying friendships, and what's happening here is most definately the opposite!

Two years (from July 2004) is more than enough time to get a list of songs together. In fact, if Kami really tried he could do it all in less than a month (after seeing what people like and searching from there).

Anyway, I said he could get his list:

But there is no need for such a rush on this. What we do need is BJ's consent. I'm not even going to book my ticket to the US until we get that.

 Fine, my use of the word "rush" was wrong. But it still doesn't mean all this talk about the music has to be even started now. Kami, I know you are really enthusiastic about organising the music, but please don't make such a big deal about it (not that you really were), as it is unimportant, at the moment.

Yes, the whole RedCon idea is to gather hundreds of Redwall fans together so that they can all hang out and make friends and enjoy the company of others just like them. Here we have a Forum, and a RedCon staff, of which only a few are actually giving a helping hand to the proceedings of the organisation of the Con. Nothing that is happening here could be "the opposite" of what the RedCon is about. No-one's actions are trying to break friendships, no-one's actions are preventing things from going ahead. The only thing that is happening here is people arguing over what songs should be played at an event, which at the moment looks like it IS NOT GOING TO GO AHEAD.
You may think me unpatient, well go ahead, but in reality I'm worrying because certain things need to be done as quick as possible, or otherwise they'll never be done.
