OK, but this leads to another question. How can you keep your own economy going when you have just bought a huge army and you only have so many markets and foragers?

 I think I can figure that out... you just get your land back and then sell your army.. or maybe get even more land than you lost and build more stuff

 They don't use up all of their food/money. They leave a few hundred million food, few billion dollars, and no need for markets or foragers.
