Using correct Grammer

The word is grammar, people, not "grammer." *applauds Ad, by the way.* My thoughts on the matter, you say? Why, certainly! I think there does need to be a watch on the grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc on these boards. Obviously this (at least I don't think) wouldn't be something involving people getting banned or gagged over a comma-splice, but rather something looking less closely. However, I think there should be a crackdown on those who use "u" instead of "you," "r" instead of "are," and soforth.

If I think of anything else, I'll add it later.

Bloodrath, I use correct grammar and spelling about 99.9999999999999999% of the time, and yet I don't check mine. Part of the reason why I post so quickly, is that I take half the time to post. :D :P

Well, maybe you are an exception then. ;) I usually always check my posts, just in case I did miss something. Doesn't take to much time or energy I find.

I too don't check my post. However, I do read it after posting and if I find something, not right. I edit it. Only takes 30 seconds, depending on the speed that it takes to load the page.

As Quamicauzilot said, it's a crackdown on u and i and ur. What you see in a chat room. This a forum NOT a chat room.

Nobody minds the odd mistake (or shouldn't) but continuos errors can become rather irritating.
However, some people do their very best to use correct grammar. And if they're meaning to do the right thing, I see nothing to object to.
Maybe working on spelling and grammar would help, but you can't attack someone who is trying to do all they can.

Heh. I was a newb once. My fellow newbs and I messed up Deathclaw's poetry topic with our newbish spamming, with sentences like "i cn kil u on rwl coz iv ben playn sins lat wek." Can anyone understand it?

Windhound's posts amuse me, since he usually adds all those "eths" in there, it's not quite like the speech of olde, but it's funny.

I generally have correct spelling and grammar most of the time, I think. If I'm not sure about the spelling of a word, then I look it up before typing, because...um...well...that's just the way I am.
