Hey everyone,

It seems I signed up in the past here as my nickname was already taken. Low and behold, I guessed the password right on the first try! Anyways, I'm a Promisance veteran from the early 2000's. Unfortunately it looks like all traces of the Promisance community I used to be a part of has all but disappeared from the internet completely. This is the only Promisance site I could find with an active community. I suppose there's a small chance some of my former associates could be here?

I haven't changed my name since then. I've always went by Saleh, so if you ever played a Fire Emblem themed Promisance game, or the one that was called "Age of Diplomacy", you probably know me. The owners of the site were Phoenix, Death, Coral, and some guy that started with 'N' I can not recall. I still remember many players.

Anyways, I was just looking to hear from you all on the current status of Promisance gaming in general. Is this really all that is left nowadays? I'm actually surprised to have found an active community at all. It's still slightly depressing. I wish we could come up with one big site to hopefully attract everyone back. Or better yet, a Promisance game app playable on your phone!

Anyways, looking forward to meeting you all if this will be our first time speaking. How long have you all been involved with Promisance?

As it turns out, you've returned at a most auspicious time, given that I haven't seen a full, "Top 10" with active players in the last year until this set :)
It does give me hope for the future of the community, seeing old fans trickle in whether from some wild whim or from the small efforts of myself et al.  It's possible some you remember could be about here, though you mention Death, & while I'm reluctant to discuss the private business of others publically, I feel it's ultimately right (for posterity for others who also try to find an old, online friend) : Death, in tragic irony, died last year.

Now for me to segue in the clumsiest fashion -The only other functional Prom (no need for turns to queue if you just get 'em all at signup :P ) is Shoot's "Happy Pony Raisers" for those interested in playing his variant he'd been working on over the past few years. But be forewarned that player interaction outside of PMs & Espionage is disabled, hence the name ;)

For all my previous aversion to critter-prom, I'm glad I could finally come around to it. I can't speak for the disappearance of all the other Proms of old (a story for each, no doubt), but the community here hasn't entirely disappeared, & that's gotta count for something. I have no idea if Redwall more readily lends itself to RP & further immersion in-game as opposed to the Vanilla, High Fantasy variants elsewhere, but it seems to make sense to me.
Also to the credit of the industrious admins & developers, their capacity to engage in special in-game events & themed sets, to me, was wholly unheard of, & I do hope we see such games again in the near future :D

Personally, I've always been a casual, amatuer player, but the sites I was most active on (when I wasn't burnt out on hyper competetiveness), were tgamerzone.net & NWOPromisance. I also very briefly ventured into Valhall & QMT, but I never felt terribly inclined to stick it out there. Names I've used include Lonewolf, Desperado, Drake & Jester.. used to role with Lifescoldbreath/ColdZero but I can't seem to get the time o' day with him these days~

Anyways, Welcome Back! :D
Quite.

First off... Wow. Death is gone huh? I played with him for years... pretty much throughout my entire career in Promisance. That is very sad to hear. May he Rest In Peace.

With that said, moving on to brighter notes. It's good to hear I decided to chime in at such a good time then! Maybe all of us Prom players have a sixth sense for each other after spending countless hours in front of the computer for years together.

I have to say I do believe our paths crossed in the past, as I do recall the name Jester. I also remember the name ColdZero. I played NWO, Valhalla, and QMT as well, so we most likely did cross paths. It's good to hear from you. Promisance became such a big part of my life at some point that I always think about the players from time to time and wonder how they're doing. I suppose I'll stick around and lurk in and out to see if someone else decides to pop their head in.
