Why wasn't there a good ol' fashioned AMERICAN character?
The character's were either english, irish, cockney, scottish, posh, french, english, or german

Lady Cregga Rose-Eye, Long Patrol, was severely wounded after her battle.  She left Salamandastom for Redwall because of her wounds.

And let us not forget Boar the Fighter from Mossflower, who died.
