I don't really want to become involved in this topic, but I feel obligated to state my opinion on the White Stripes. They are shockingly untalented. Next time you hear one of their songs, try to pick out the most complex parts that they play. Once you've done that, play some Jimmy Hendrix or somesuch and pick out the least complicated drumming and guitar bits. Compare. Finally, realize that all they're capable of is making catchy tunes which slowly grow more and more annoying. I must admit that 7 man army is a pretty cool video, though. All the same, I sense a conspiracy and subliminal messaging. Now, some good bands/musicians. I'll just list a few.

Alice in Chains
Tool
Nirvana
System of a Down
Bad Religion
Rage Against the Machine
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Incubus

Yes, well. Might come back, might now. Make what you like.
