I remember in 08 that there were real game guides on the site, and not just the Races Guide, but also Intro to Turn-based Games etc. What happened to them all?   ???

Uiblis

They got removed because of 3.0

Eventually 3.0 will move to reg as well, so those old guides will be obsolete. I believe new ones are in the process of being written...but I could be wrong.

For given values of "currently" and "written", sure.

About when do you think the new game guides will be ready?

Kilkenne

I always promise to write them, and then we never deploy anything onto Reg and then I don't. I'll end up writing them once that date gets near, probably.

Sometime between now and later than now. Of course, opposition to moving 3.0 to reg kind of sapped my motivation.

People are just scared of change.

Tbh, 3.0, even in its current state, is much better than the crazy imbalance currently on reg.

Only big problems with 3.0 (imo) are hit limit and removal of leader attack. Also market taxes are annoying.

What don't you like about the hitlimit, specifically? Too high/low/failed attacks not counting?

Re: leader attacks, I could see adding that back in if people want it without unbalancing things too much.

Market taxes, yea. Pain in the butt, but the cheating that was going on without it was worse.

Hitlimit seems too low.

Since no atk ops, you're basically forced to join a clan.

creating your own basically means you'll be hit below 10k land every time you get in, especially since half the players are in a single clan right now

I am the leader of that clan and thinking of disbanding it, because I have a truce with some people, and now  I can't attack anyone  because my allies are the only attack able .

Shadow

Unfortunately this is a symptom of a small player base more than anything - there are no easy ways to code around it that don't end up being rather silly.

Which means exactly what I said? ^_^

The number of players we have is small. Big clans suffer for lack of targets as a result of this.

Sharktooth

True. And that is why I am disbanding the clan!

Peace out! ;)

For future reference, it is possible to leave a clan personally without disbanding it (you just have to make someone else leader first). This would have been a good idea, if, for example, someone had filled the storehouse with goodies which are now lost forever ^_^
