I'm pretty sure the most common reason for drinking is to get drunk. Other reasons are to act like you're getting drunk while others lose their inhibitions and interact with you on an intimate level.

But not because it tastes good.

Getting drunk is often not even something I am interested in happening.

Well, I like beer pretty well, and I used to like rum but last year i spent a week in costa rica and now it smells gross to me.
