And CORPORATE SELLOUTS UGHHH is a pretty timeless mindset... and not even what I was saying. I compared them to the Backstreet Boys. Pop groups and poo, commercial entities, not serious artists who sold out something. Dunno why you feel the need to mock a stranger because you imagine something based on a post on a forum. It's not like this is exactly a big deal. Take some Xanax or something.

Ok I'm going to take a massive leap of faith here and admit I'm an idiot who didn't read unga's post, because the first thing I read was yours.

I think the difference between the backstreet boys and the beatles is one went on to be one of the influential acts ever, even if they did play it safe at times. (at times, I mean sgt. pepper's is imo not "trendwhoring") So whether or not you were directly comparing them in every single aspect, using the backstreet boys as an example is still a bit stupid.

Anyway I don't see anything wrong with being commercially successful, I never get why some people seem to resent success.
