I always played Starfox or Wolf.

I would normally use Pit or Kirby, but I was pretty good with those guys. Starfox was okay, Wolf wasn't bad either. I think I used Olimar more than I used them though. As for Zelda, I was disappointed when I realized that she wasn't as bad as brawl made her look.
