The game has been deleted. I just tried to go on, and it said my account will be deleted soon. I checked the forums, and there it was, in plain old text, " The game will be deleted on April 10. It's been fun playing with you guys."

...where were you Peace? There was definitely a rivalry between RWL and FAF in the beginning. I think the dislike was mostly towards Retto who was running RWL at the time, although it was no secret that they weren't too fond of a couple other RWL staff members as well. ;) And of course there were the occasional "we're better than you" debates from both sides. I'm sure you can find some of them just by searching for 'FAF' on this forum.

All in all, it's a shame to finally see them go. I know they struggled for the past several years, but understandably life gets in the way (I can relate). They were definitely a pioneering promisance, much more than RWL at the time of FAF's peak. RWL's development has honestly only really picked up in the last year.

You can find a lot of the history on the forum. I don't think most of it was deleted, but a few accounts were deleted.

It boils down to the guy who ran FaF had a different approach to ~motivating~ the previous (and current at the very beginning) RWL team than a lot of people would have had.

I don't think anyone who was there really wants to relive any of it, but the thread in news/updates about the new RWL team is a good place to get the summary.
