even though your attack start to cost 3-4 turns and 6-9 health each after a few shots?

Better than having no one to attack in the first place.

Are shame losses messed with? I attacked a guy with $5.3 mil net from my place at $8.6 mil net and 3.1% of my army left.

merc prices need to be raised.

suggestions:

rats: $300
weasels: $600
stoats: $1200
skiffs: $2100

Maximum prices need also be lowered to prevent abuse from this round on:

rats: $650
weasels: $1300
stoats: $2600
skiffs: $ 5200

These numbers are adjustable, but in general but leave less room for code abuse. Note resellers can still make a pretty penny off their wares, but avoiding trade limits via market transactions will be thwarted.

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS!!! Unless your plan is to completely destroy solo indying. Even with help its hard to make progress, and you use so many resources its ridiculous. Do I need to start a freaking petition?!

I think the plan is to do away with solo indying.

The reason merc prices were lowered is because people should have to actually manage an economy

with sell prices that high (those suggestions are actually quite a bit higher than they were before even), indiers never have to manage an economy, never have to interact on the public market, and never have to build anything except barracks. This is exactly the reason that 3.0 was even conceived, was to remove those options.

Next round there are changes planned which will make indying both more powerful and easier overall, but making sell prices so high that indiers can run in the ref the whole time is just not something that is going to happen unless literally everyone wants it (even then, I would ask that you give it a couple of rounds for us to iron out the current problems before condemning things as unusable).

Basically, selling stuff on mercs is intended, in 3.0, to be a desperation move that should only happen very rarely. Otherwise, it is better to keep net and goods flowing around the game through the market.

What do other people think?

Making changes - even changes for the better - will cause a stir. We've all been playing the same way for like 6 years now. You just can't really indy the same way anymore.

Market changes for next round will make it so that your goods arrive at the market immediately (no more 6 hour delay), so if you aggressively price your troops, and there are enough people online, you may actually be able to sell things to other players mid-run.

I actually meant to say market prices to prevent further abuse (or at least, minimize it's simplicity.)

Oh, you mean the bounds on the public market prices should be tighter? I think I agree with that. The minimum should be the same as a weasel pays for mercs when maxxed on camps, and the max should be the max that a wildcat pays for mercs without camps:

that would be

min

315
660
1320
1980

max

656
1375
2750
4125

Yeah, food needs a raise, $2 was far too low and waas being abused. We might want to give resellers a bit more room to play around though Kyle..

That's all the room they have, really. I mean, they can buy rats at 315, absolute minimum, so selling at less than that has no point. Likewise, nobody will ever pay more than those max prices because mercs will always be cheaper.

(which is why I ultimately wanted to get rid of mercs)
