I'll agree that marten isn't that interesting either, and I've been playing marten for like 7 years...

I just wish there was a more offensive leader race, they all seem to be about hoarding. I want one with a like a 1.5x steal, or murder or poison.

Indiers use more cash than food; just building a few foragers can keep you good.

you need to sell all of your food to utilize the full networth potential

Depends a lot on how much you sell it for. If you can get it for a good price on the market you can definitely see a significant jump in the amount of net. But imo most of the time you can't sell it all quickly and selling to mercs actually makes less net than if you kept the food, I think.

Of course that also depends on what troops you buy and all that.

EDIT: Wow, lot of posts in between...didn't even notice.

Meh, it can be used offensively, yes, but it's leader ability is not necessarily offense based. It's also more effective with troops due to the 25% offense bonus. I'd like to see a pure leader glass cannon type race.

I meant selling via market / aids when I said sell, mercs selling food doesn't give a great price :/

it's fairly easy to sell it all of on the market considering the 90% cap, especially if you start a few days early, most indiers will buy it up pretty quick, even at about $12 a piece (although that depends how active the game is)

I don't think you get it. Wolves sell food for a high price on the market to store it there. The lower their NW the more food they can produce per feast.

That's also a neat idea, actually. People are always complaining that leader players are unassailable, but if we made one that had uber offense but terrible defense, we could solve that. Sort of. Eh.

I'll toy around with the idea when time permits :)

True, especially on turbo.

Reg takes much longer. Usually too long for me to wait.  :P
