You are drawing a conclusion based on a pre-constructed opinion of other cultures based on your desires for your own culture, and probably the opnions of those that currently lord over you in school and at home.

Christianity was formed to get out of all the work involved in getting to heaven.

Protestantism took it even further.

This isn't a reflection on christians. It is an example of a different culture.

Ancient Christianity was just as much work as Judaism. And if not yeah that shows that they are willing to work to get to heaven whereas we try to find the easy way. And yes part of this is western culture.
Im not trying to say that Christianity is the problem. Yes we Christians have much closer ties to Western culture and so we are what we are.

"Ancient christianity" is an oxymoron. Christianity has existed for less than 2000 years as a coherent religion.

And no, it isn't near as much work. Even when what we know today as catholicism existed in its purest form, it was so much less work.

That is part of why it was appealing enough to escape cult status to become a "religion."

No, he wasn't. It would have mentioned the fact it was winter in the Bible. I know Luke says he was born before Yom Kippur, which is something that happens in fall.

The seasons in each hemisphere are opposite to each other, so when it is winter in the Northern Hemisphere, it is summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
