Could someone give me some info on him, like what he did for RWL and some general background. I'm making a page on him for the Redwall Wiki.

Retto did a lot of work for the Redwall Online Community, RWL was just a small part of it. http://www.rovl.org/ shows some of the sites he worked on. Golden Leaf Inn was his personal Redwall site, and he had a lot of neat unique features on that site for Redwall fans to enjoy (I think some of them are broken now). He also coded Vulpine Imperium (and is still the coder in charge of it today, I think).

On the RWL side of things, he joined RWL in the first couple days of its existance (I think his number was #21, don't ask me how I remember this stuff), as the Deran-Jed Pumer Clan. He became Emperor twice in First Era, under the character names Spigot and Haruvar. Before First Era was over, he offered to help Boze with the coding, and soon Retto, Boze and Stormclaw put out the second version of RWL, Dark Empires Expansion (DEX). Boze eventually faded into the background, and Retto became the sole admin and coder for RWL.

Kind of like what happened with wolf bite, some RWL members hassled him, and eventually updating RWL just stopped being fun for him (probably shouldn't put this in the wiki, I'm just telling it to complete the story). He left in about 2005 but didn't hand over the site to the other admins (myself, wolf and Peace) till more than a year later in 2006.

Overall, Retto definitely helped shape the ROC into what it became in its heyday. Most ROC members shaped the community through role-playing or story-writing... Retto did it through programming.
