I was Syncing one of these:

And it was taking forever. Then I got up from the computer, tripped over the wire, which pulled it out of the USB port and caused it to stop Syncing. IT TOOK 10-15 minutes for it to almost finish syncing the first time

WHY IS IT SO SLOW?!?!

Assuming it is one of those, its an original iPod Mini

Pre-USB 2, its using USB 1.1 which is slooooow
's why they also came with Firewire, if your computer has a Firewire 400 port pickup an iPod Firewire cable.  Any will do.

So, your computer is just slow

Or you're using a USB 1.1 spec'd port on your computer

It is an Ipod Mini. Its my back up Ipod. Love it.

I dont know what kind of USB I have. whatever the computer came with. My Ipod Nano syncs faster than that. So I assume its just the old Ipod. It is a pain though when I need to sync it before I go somewhere.

Look at your ipod settings and select "Manually Manage Music"
Then just drag and drop your new songs over as needed

Hate syncing myself.

Will it only manually manage music for that Ipod? or will I have to do it for the other one too?

But yes, it could just be the...  6 - 7 year old mini hard drive slooowing down.
So glad we've moved onto flash based MP3 players, harddrives are kinda fragile to be taking the beating your standard MP3 player receives

If it ever does fail or you get tired of it they make adapters so you can stick a compact flash card in there instead
Hardest part of the install is splitting the case, otherwise just unplugging the old and plugging in the new.

Settings are per-device, if you set your mini to Manual you can keep your Nano syncing
