How much longer do you think RWL will still be active?

Almost 9 years ago, even the creator of RWL said he didn't think RWL would last beyond one year. Even today, it seems people are still surprised that we're still stubbornly chugging along, despite the death of the Redwall and Promisance communities. we can't help it, we're just so awesome

So basically, I don't think anything surprises me anymore. Thank you RWL for being the way you are. :)

i voted 3-5 years as i think a lot of people will grow out or find other commitments but other than that there is no other reason it wont live forever, RWL FOREVER!

I think 3-5 years. Lots of us are going to be getting to the actual adulthood stage of our lives in that time.

I'd like to say forever, but unless the site gets passed onto the next generation I'm not sure people will be interested in the site 5-10 years down the line, or rather be interested and able+willing to develop, code, balance and pay for it.

I'm currently in top position by a huge margin BUT I'm intentionally dropping down to the bottom.

Well you old people (lol) are going to lose your pride if you keep playing but you old people tend to know a lot of people with younger kids so why not try to introduce them to this

Forums are out of style. It's all about the status updates and liking and commenting now.

Yeah, it's all about pointless status updates and fake friends. Some people on social networks have 600 friends and post a new status every hour-sometimes more.

One person annoyed me so much I removed her, lol. I only keep 200friends or so, and even then realistically only about 20-30 would be proper irl friends where as others are people I know from RWL (well, I guess some of them are kind of friends like Blood Wake) people I just know from school.

The only forums that seem very active at the moment are gamer forums. Probably for a mulititude of reasons.

But yes, there is a nice gathering of ingame members such as all of Hares...people like Vulpes Jarr, for example. I suppose they use the lounge and clan forums instead of these forums.

Yeah, the Lounge finally seems to be taking on a life of its own. Much like Spa and the Box of Shouts. :) It is a shame they don't frequent the forums though. For some reason I don't consider people fully integrated into the RWL community until they post frequently on the forums.

i've mentioned it a couple of times to W.A.R but they seem set against the idea.

On the note of people liking social networks, it is possible to integrate features of social networking into forums. Stuff like comments on your page, groups with their own mini-forums (eg. fans of RWL and Warrior cats). Other features you can add include being able to upload albums, make statuses (which can be liked) and on a similar note I suppose reputation system is similar to liking too. Stuff like messaging is also made more similar to a chat as with social networks.

This is all probably quite dificult and time-consuming to code, though, and would probably have to be developed independently instead of powred by SMF or whatever. It's definetly possible though-a good example is Bioware Social Network. (yes, I'm a Bioware fanboy)

I'm not sure if making the forums eventually like that is a possibility or too dificult, I'm just throwing out an idea.

sounds like a good idea if we could get a like feature and also the photo album integrated into the actual forums.
