Is it normal when being attacked to lose 8 or 9 times what your opponent does

On turbo i was attacked by Shadow and some of my losses seemed totally ridiculous
Like one attack he killed off 9 mil rats and only lost 1 mil and another time he killed off 8 mil rats and only lost a measly 200k

I thought losses were supposed to be skewed in the defenders favor.

losses are modified by how badly one player beats the other. If you were taking higher losses, it just means that I ha way way more rats then you when I did it.

how many did you have at the time then?

cause i had around 120 mil

I had well over 250m, and as many as 400m at one point.
