Oh, there are lots of market changes planned, I don't think we need to address this one in the interrim.

Okie, given that there's a lots of market changes planned, the quick fix would be to fix the values to a percentage of the average market value of the troop. Easy fix... well.. based on the codes in my head, I've not really kept up with the source code.. *ho hum*

I do not approve of the new market system. It eliminates a lot of strategies that this game used to have.

IMO only the lowest price of each item should be displayed, and the sellers name should stay anonymous...

Can't disagree with the lowest priced item being the only one displayed, as market theft isn't possible anymore sadly (well nearly isn't possible) it's kind of pointless to see any items other than the lowest priced item other than to see how much your opponents are storing, although with the planned changes reducing the market to only a market and not a storehouse at all (that's what I understand is happening?) then seeing items other than the lowest priced item really is pointless

In conclusion I dislike the recent market changes too

Just a minor nitpick, but they are hardly recent ^_^. Several years now, at least.

In any case, I agree on some counts, but not all: Being able to see everything makes sure that nobody can monopolise the market. I like the idea of anonymous sellers, but I think that it is important that you can buy from anyone.

Why would you want to buy say 1'000'000 rats from player X for $400 each when you can buy 1'000'000 rats from player Y for $300 each

I appreciate you wouldn't want to buy from rivals etc. but maybe making it anonymous would make it a more balanced open market in terms of people only buy based off of prices, not off of who they're actually buying from

I don't have a very good sense of time :P

It's not that it is important that you can spend more, it is important that one person cannot lock down the market by selling a ton of really cheap troops, making it useless to other players. The open market is there to stop monopolies by emperors and the like.

hhmm, I see, never thought of it much like that  :-\

The anonymous thing might still be an interesting idea though?

Kilkenne

From what I understand, the market is going to be receiving a serious overhaul in the next version of the game. It should be significantly more interactive and finally used as something other than a storehouse.

That caveat uttered, I will say that I do like the idea of an anonymous market personally, so that you can't boycott one another, but that is, after all, part of the game.

cloud

I see the market as useless in both an actual market and the ability to store troops.

It's not useful to store troops when everyone can see what you have.

It's also not useful as a market because most intelligent people aren't going to buy from competing clans, which is almost every other clan besides yours, and if you need something from a clan mate they'll probably just give it to you instead of having to buy it. If the seller was anonymous then you'd have no idea who you were buying from, so it's more likely that you would buy things off the market.

Most people can't be that picky, if someone from an opposing clan is selling what they need at a price significantly lower than the prices in mercs then they usually buy (I know I do) unless the clans are in a serious war of some sort
