I need to dress in the fashion of the 1920's in Russia.

Anyone know any good fashion sites I could find this in?

englishrussia.com owns, if you search through it there're quite a few articles tagged to the 20s and 30s.

http://englishrussia.com/2008/09/29/moscow-zoo-at-1920/ is a quick one that I remember reading a long time ago that I found interesting so I looked for it.

Check out the people in those photos, should give you a pretty good idea. Lotta wool, lotta dresses. They recently changed this site completely, kind of annoying now, it used to be more barren, liked it better that way.

Admin move this to real life discussion in my opinion so my excellent posts get counted.

edit: Addendum, it basically means that you probs aren't going to buy this stuff in a store anymore, but if you can find ruralesque or pre-suburban American 20s stuff, you'd just look like a fashionable city Russian...A-la the later pictures. If you're going to be a folk wife, that would be way funnier, and you need a basic dress, a white apron, and a headscarf. The headscarf would have been silk or felt.

you should totally just show up to some social gathering wearing a corset and hoop skirt then, although I am told that corsets are awfully uncomfortable

If you do show up one day make sure you tell no one, and act like nothing is any different. That would be awesome. Now to go find links to make this dream a reality. The fact that I don't feel weird searching for petticoats online is shocking.
