Stealing a topic from FAF forums:

Go here and take this test. I am curious where RWLers stand.

My score:

Economic Left/Right: -6.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.23

Used to be closer to the centre, but was still always left/libertarian leaning. This election in Canada has pushed me more in that direction as I learn more about how the Canadian systems works (and doesn't).

I found this interesting.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 1.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.41

This puts me just slightly to the right and a little more liberation. People that talk to me about issues think I am falling off the edge on the right. I am a "Constitutionalist". (not as scary as it sounds).  If it is not in the Constitution you can't do it until the Constitution has been changed. Seems simple.

Some things like health and welfare are reserved for the states, the fed has no power to touch this. Business have a right to make profit to emply people and only if they violate a law then they should be strickly punished.

Some republicans make some of these issues their main talking points, so I get grouped with them on all issues. When really I am a defender for the rights of people to act as they want as long as no one else's rights are being stepped on.

I recall a formal meal I was at where one topic came up on government spending, I expressed my views that the states only had the legal right to spend money in such a way. 3 people started yelling at me assuming I believed some really strange radical "right" viewpoints. I could not get a word in, but they claimed things about me having nothing to do with the topic we were on.

People need to remember that there are not only 2 or 3 views. For example some very good friends of mine are large contributors to the Republican party, they fly out to the Pres Bush ranch and eat. These friends are 2 ladies whose relationship would be assumed unacceptable by the party they heavily support.

Oh my good god,  I don't fit in at all.

Economic Left/Right: 6.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.54

Also I should note that I'm actually more libertarian than I seem. I don't agree with some things but that doesn't mean the government should restrict/outlaw it.

Nothing I didn't know there, but still quite interesting.

I'm currently in top position by a huge margin BUT I'm intentionally dropping down to the bottom.

Yellow Eyes

Economic Left/Right: 1.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 4.21

And I wish I was in Vegas. Good luck to you Wolf Bite. Have fun.

Economic Left/Right: 7.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.74

I'm...I'm not sure how that even works.

Also Wolf Bite make sure you go check out the ferrari dealership on the ground floor there. When I was there last year Steve's maseratis were there also and it was well worth the ten bucks I found. Didn't do any of the kitchy crap but I just like cars.

I would expect right-leaning people to tend to the bottom right. SImply because free market advocates often also advocate small government, which is basically what libertarianism is, no? It surprises me that so many people who are to the right economically end up on the top half of the graph.

Yes but the test asks for personal opinions on matters, not if you think they should be controlled. And like I said before while I may not like some things I don't think they should be outlawed/restricted. I guess that could be my own fault considering it was a POLITICAL test, but I answered the questions honestly as they were.

Economic Left/Right: -2.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.03

I kind of expected my score to be more left, but the statements were just so extreme. Like, I'm a supporter of a socialised healthcare system, but "Those that have the ablility to pay for it should get a higher standard of health care" or whatever it said is not the opposite of that.

Aww looking at the International Chart makes me wish that Kevin Rudd was still PM.  :'(

Some of the questions are worded in strange ways and there should be far more to get an accurate read. Still, an interesting heuristic.

The Lady Shael

I just took this less than a month ago, and I was 3 points to the left, so I don't know what happened.

Economic Left/Right: -0.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.08

RWLers, your wish is my command...as long as it complies with the rules.
