Are you guys seriously questioning whether he was born in America? Is this honestly the forum for the dumbest of the dumb? I bet 911 was an inside job too, right? Moon landing was faked? Give me a break! There is absolutely no reason for you to believe any of this stuff except for it validates your dislike of the man. This is Tea Party and Fox News rhetoric! I know we have a code of conduct on these forums, so I won't call you idiots. But why would a Hawaii hospital have entered his birth record 47 years ago? Would they have known he would one day "pretend" to be an American President? Believing that Obama isn't American is idiotic.

There are a lot of intellectual, fiscally conservative, pro-capitalist reasons to dislike Obama. Just spend 5 minutes talking to Volkov if you want to hear those (largely) valid criticisms. Don't validate your racist or cynical emotions by subscribing to the false, unconscionable and truly vile rhetoric prevailing in the Fox News narratives.

A helpful tip for those of you who are too lazy to look things up from valid news sources. If Fox News said it, it's probably false. If it was said by Glen Beck, it's the insane ramblings of a lunatic. Just go watch CNN or something.

If all Fox News tell is lies can someone explain to me why in Feb. of last year it marked 86 consecutive months of being the top rated cable news channel? Or why in January of this year it was the highest rated basic cable channel in primetime, which includes entertainment channels like ABC etc.?

It seems to me that people know they are getting something better from Fox than others so they are watching it more, but maybe I'm wrong.

Also, how much have you actually listened to or read about Glenn Beck? Yes, the guy says some off the wall things, he is a radical conservative, but are you basing your judgment on the criticisms of others? Or have you actually invested time into finding your own logical, reasoned opinion.

Obama's birthplace is the same sort of criticism that Bush picked up because he had a tendency to misspeak, unfounded statements based upon some minute suspicion or fact by people who are very mad at the person and so will use anything they get their hands on to misrepresent, distort, or destroy said person's image.

I find it funny that you are using the 9/11 conspiracy with the whole Obama isn't an American: his birth certificate is fake conspiracy. Both are off the wall the notions founded to destroy relatively opposite end politicians by the opposite ends of the political spectrum (crazy liberals touted the 9/11 conspiracy and crazy conservatives touted the birthplace one).

Because most people prefer to be told what they already think is truth than entertain a conflicting opinion, and because Fox News basically is an entertainment channel.

But this is not really about Fox News, this is about conspiracy theories that Alazar is using to validate his dislike of the man that is your president. Which I am surprised but pleasantly so to realize that you do think it's utter nonsense.

And which news channel is not basically an entertainment channel?

Like I said go watch eye-witness Youtube videos if you want real news without a spin.

Fox News got brought into it, I happen to like Fox News (surprise surprise right?) and I found the criticism a bit unfounded and I wanted to dispute the apparent stereotype that everyone who watches Fox News is going to hang on to every little thing they can to destroy The President's image and that Fox News only tells lies.

Fox News isn't all lies, their actual news programs don't put too much of a spin on things. Those programs, however, constitute less and less of the programming of Fox News. More and more it's guys like Glenn Beck, and Bill O'Reilly, and Hannity that are getting airtime on Fox News. These are not news programs in the classic sense, they are more properly classed as entertainment programs. Some people even go so far as to call Glenn Beck the conservative equivalent of Jon Stewart. Anyway, those programs are the reason for the high ratings of Fox News. That and the fact that when you get right down to it, most Americans are conservative.

Except Jon Stewart is a comedian... Glen Beck makes every effort to appear to be a legitimate news source. It's called "fair and balanced" news, and it's on a major 24 hour news network. Jon Stewart is on a 24 hour COMEDY network.

But shadow is right, the Fox News debate is worthy of it's own topic.

And Watergate never happened...?

One of these nights when I have a bit of spare time on my hands and nothing else to do I will look into it a bit more. My grandpa showed me papers of a guy trying to sue Obama about a year ago because he wouldn't show his birth records. He never went to court and denied the claim without proof according to what I read. I am not saying that 9/11 was an inside job, but you cannot dispute the possiblity that it COULD have been, not likely, but still a possibility. Don't be so darn blind as to believe everything that is presented to you.

I AM NOT JUDGING HIM ON RACE. The fact that a black man is our President is sensational to be honest. I don't like socialism. It's as simple as that. Our country was built on capitalistic boundaries, and I for one would like to keep it that way. Before you go talking about Bush, remember that Pelosi and her democrats were in office when that happened. To be honest, the President doesn't matter as much as Congress does when it comes to passing bills. I agree with little of what Obama says. Back during the primaries my history teacher had our class take a test, that measured who your opinions matched up with. Mine was not McCain, but Mitt Romney.

I am racist against all types of people. The "N" word can be used on more then just black people. What I really hate is reverse racism and why they can call themselves that word, but I can't? I am sorry, but they are not above me..

He was elected your president. In the course of the election, his bithplace was shown to be in America beyond any shadow of doubt, or he would not be elected.

QuoteI don't like socialism

Obama is not socialist, and there are plenty of aspects of your life that are socialized already. For example, the postal service. Socialism does not equal evil.

Pure ignorance. When a white man says it, they are basically saying "You are a slave." When a black man says it, they are saying "We have a shared history, and we didn't let it break us." There is a huge and understandable difference.
<=holbs-.. ..-holbs=> <=holbs-..

Alazaar, the N word originates with the slave trade. But I'm pretty sure you justified that too, so oh well.

After reading this thread I lost what little scraps of respect I had for Alazar . . .

He obviously makes a racist post, then denies he is racist, then later on says that he is truly racist? make up your mind Alazar!

Seriously it's probably because of people like you that America still has problems . . .

You never know what you're talking about so why do you speak? I am not the racist I am portrayed to be. So read my posts...As well as America is the most diverse country in the world, so what are you talking about?

I have a few black friends, have no problems with most of them. I grew up in a ghetto neighborhood, where I was literally the only white kid for blocks. Besides Obama is not really black, he is muslim. Barrack HUSSIEN Obama..

The other thing that really bugs me is when people call them African Americans. They are Americans, UNLESS they moved to this country and where born there. I have sweedish blood in my family blood lines, but I am not a Swedish American.

I don't like socialism, and Obama and Pelosi are doing their damnest to turn our country that way.

The N word is another word for Negro. Negro means black in spanish, that is what they are. I don't care what it means. That is one example. So a black man can call me a "cracka", but I can't say nothing back? They whine about everything. If you watch TV and a black man is not included in a program they scream racism. It's ridculous.

So pushing somebody because they pushed you make it right? Grow up. Now. That's a horrible excuse, and I will not buy it.
Exactly. The spanish were involved in the slave trade.

Oh, the irony...

By the way, Pippin's post was perfectly clear - he said that you are jumping around on the racism issue. There was no need to jump all over him, his point is valid.

Quotenot really black, he is muslim. Barrack HUSSIEN Obama..

Lol, nice. Assume that the name implies the religion/ethnicity.

Being black is an ethnicity. Being muslim is a religion. Barack Obama is black, and christian (first result on google, try it sometime). Do you really take your prejudice so far that even a name that might imply something about someone is taken as proof positive without even the slightest attempt to verify? Seriously?

QuoteThe other thing that really bugs me is when people call them African Americans. They are Americans, UNLESS they moved to this country and where born there. I have sweedish blood in my family blood lines, but I am not a Swedish American.

Pointless nitpick, technically you are a swedish american.

QuoteI don't like socialism, and Obama and Pelosi are doing their damnest to turn our country that way.

Right, they are commies because they want universal healthcare. Again, lots of aspects of your society are ALREADY socialized, and you live with them just fine.

QuoteI don't care what it means.

The word has a connotation, if a white person says it it is implied that the black person is slave and the white person is master. If someone calls you cracker you can call them out on it.

QuoteThey whine about everything.

Wow. Just wow. I suppose they are all identical, too, right? How do you even function in today's society with this attitude?

QuoteIf you watch TV and a black man is not included in a program they scream racism. It's ridculous.

Again with the "they." Stop generalizing, not all black people are the same, not all of them do anything. Some are conservative, some are liberal, some whine, some say the n word, some don't. They are not all the same, stop assuming that they are.

Also, do you actually know of a specific example of this? Or are you just assuming. Please provide evidence so we can discuss it.

Read up on the term "outgroup" in the context of prejudice.

Considering that this thread is based on a quote you picked up (maybe from Fox news?) that is incorrectly stating Barrack Obama's birthplace is Kenya when it has been proved time and time again that he was born in Hawaii!

From Wikipedia (Actually simple english wikipedia for you Alazar) :

"People who follow Islam are called Muslims. Muslims believe that there is only one god, whom they call Allah (Arabic: الله‎, al-lāh)."

"Muslims also believe that Muhammad  (or Mohammed) was the last of many prophets from God. They believe that the Qur'an is the exact word of God, as revealed to Muhammad. Muslims also call Muhammad a "messenger of Allah"."

Considering Obama is not religious . . . how can he be a muslim?

Um yeah, to expand on Sharptooth, Islam is a religion, someone can be be black and a muslim, but Obama isn't.

African American is a term used to describe someone's race. Swedish people and white Americans are the same race. Black Africans are a different race.
