troop suicides don't do enough damage to be a legitimate takedown strategy. Not within 21 attacks anyway. With 50, they start to do some damage, but not with 21. So no, it isn't.

And even if you do enough damage to open a hole in 21 attacks, what then? They are maxxed, you can't take them down anyway.

Leader suicides are indeed broken. We should fix that now, actually. Shael, msn if you have a minute?

RWLers, your wish is my command...as long as it complies with the rules.

K, I think that for now we should just reverse the check we put on them. Simpply remove the factor of attacker leaders/defender leaders from the loss equation. It will be back to what it was, which was a little OP, but better than what is there now (my bad) and we can fix it properly in the new code.

The the only solution to a declanned emp candidate is to net around them?

When we fix suicides that will be an option as well. But yea. What else could you do? I mean, you could troop suicide them, but it would fail horribly anyway. Why would you want to?

Twilight Shadow

For pure enjoyment, or like me this round don't care at all what happens except piss the crap out of them...which seems to be working lol  :-*

Neobaron

For the lulz?

I guess my point is that it is a legitimate strategy for keeping declanned emp candidates at least a little in check, especially for smaller clans and empires who lack the playerbase and resources to fight back against clans who would do something like declan their net to protect it.

I don't see a difference between an emp that was booted for their protection and an emp that is still in the clan.

There was an idea tossed around recently that failed attacks should not count toward the maxxing total if they happen in quick succession. For example, for an hour after someone fails an attack, other failed attacks won't count toward your attack total.

This would make troops suicides a legitimate option and eliminate the need for the maxxing rule altogether. Thoughts?

Neobaron

That's an outstanding solution, in my opinion.

That is a really good solution. I would rather it be something more like 30 minutes to prevent potential abuse (intentionally failing attacks so people have more chances to run someone down) before it re-triggers. I don't think I expressed why I feel that 30 minutes is better than 60 in a coherent way just then, I will think more about it and let you know either here or on MSN later I suppose. I don't think "30 minutes just feels right" really works, does it?

Shadow

30 mins vs 60 mins would not make a difference. If I am going to troop suicide someone, it is not going to take me more than 30 mins.

Yeah, there's another point that I thought of that legitimized what I thought, but I literally don't remember it. It made so much sense at the time.

Neobaron

Plus at 60, the available attack counter will tick back up to 22 from the initial failure, right?

(Making sure I understand.)
