Krowdon

Pac-Man and I started this. Not sure if its supposed to be a 1 on 1 or not, but here it is, yay! This is my post, and Im not sure if we have a plot yet, so we'll just go with whatever!

---

(Alright. Anything like this will be OOC. Our setting could be a little South of Mossflower, in some grasslands. Now, Krowdon is going to be by herself(not gonna make her a warlord, so I think I'm going to have Ranger either be a loner, or have a small group.)  So, I'll start and work with that. If you Don't like something, feel free to change it.)

Krowdon regretted the fact that she had ever come up past Mossflower. She had moved out of temperate forests, and into areas of vast grasslands and pine trees, and she hated it.

Krowdon had just settled down near the outer fringes of a pine forest, when she got an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach. A faint sound of laughter had come from the east. The vixen drew her axe slowly, as to not make any sound. Getting up carefully, she snuck through the trees and shrubbery.

No more than 10 minutes away from her camp, somebeast had a campfire burning. Crouching low to the ground, Krowdon found cover and peered over the bushes.

Firetooth

#1
Firetooth the once mighty wildcat gazed at the miserable excuse for a fire, poking it with the point of his rusted sword. He had once been a mighty warlord, but betrayed by those dearest to him, he had been forced to flee and nearly killed. He had wandered south for months, his clothes ragged, rations gone and sword rusted. He let out a bitter cry of laughter as he imagined himself, mighty emperor Firetooth, reduced to a wandering savage, a loner. He could hardly remember his embroided finery, his polished armour and his golden crown. He could only remember his city burning, his citizens rioting, his castle doors being rammed down. He had fought for his life, and he had lost count of how many fell to his blade that day. He didn't know what he was fighting for as he had left the city, with everything that had once belonged to him either destroyed or stolen, his throne usurped.

But he had powerful friends. As he gazed at the fire, the anger burning within reflected by the flickering flames, he heard a twig snap. Using his sword point, he pushed himself to his feet, his leg still injuired from the failed assassination on him. Limping as fast as he could manage, he crouched behind the nearest bush and waited. Whoever was watching him would either come to see where he'd gone or leave him alone. Either option would work.

Krowdon

Krowdon watched the wildcat get up and leave. She wasnt sure where he had gone to, but he had left a small sack of supplies behind. After waiting around 15 minutes for the wildcat to return, Krowdon got tired of waiting.  No longer feeling the need to be stealthy, she left her hiding place in the bushes, and went to retreive the bag.

(Sorry for the short post. Im giving you a chance to like, talk to the voices in your head, or something. XD)

(ooc: Sorry this took me so long... And it's a bit confusing, so just ask if you have questions. It's taking place some distance away from Firetooth and Krowdon...)

The assassin was wearing a black tunic with a blood-red cape. He stepped forward, his eyes glaring hate. It was all Ranger could do to match his gaze and step backwards from his advancing foe. Ranger knew that there was pathetically little hope that he could win this battle. The ferret's lithe frame and single eye made combat hard. Ranger's one eye scanned the assassin that stood before him and he slowly adjusted the black patch that covered his other empty eye socket.

Suddenly, devoid of warning, the fox assassin unsheathed his ornate sword and swung for Ranger's torso, all in one fluid motion. Instinctively, Ranger threw himself to the ground and the blade of the outlaw's sword screamed through the air above him. Gritting his teeth, the physically small Ranger kicked out viciously at the outlaw's knee. The assassin yelped in surprise and toppled forward onto Ranger. Ranger silently cursed himself as the outlaw rolled off of him and prepared his broadsword for another attack. This time, Ranger was determined to be ready. His sword gleamed defiantly as it flew from its scabbard. Slowly, the enemies circled one another. Then, the outlaw put all his power into a vertical swing. Ranger parried, but the shock vibrated through his paws. Gripping his sword with both paws, Ranger retaliated with a combination of cuts and slices that drove his would-be killer into a momentary retreat. The ferret's efforts were ephemeral. Parrying a blow, the outlaw advanced, bringing his advantage of height and weight to play.

The outlaw was gaining the upper hand. His cape swishing imperiously, he parried a blow and, dropping to one knee, swung hard for Ranger's ankles. Leaping over the glittering blade, Ranger drove his sword down towards the assassin's overextended torso. The outlaw rolled to the side and Ranger swung again. Their blades clashed and the sound of steel on steel resounded though the area. Leaping to his feet, the outlaw threw all of his reserve energy into his final advancing. Unexpectedly, a powerful blow from the  large fox knocked Ranger's blade from his hands. Ranger gasped as the blade twirled through the air. When it hit the ground, the thud it made filled Ranger's ear.
This is it, he thought, just as I thought I had a new life. The hilt of the outlaw's sword struck Ranger in the face and he shrieked as the pain burned on his cheek and he toppled backwards. Landing on his back, he wiped the blood from his face with the back of his hand.

All he could see was the glittering blade diving towards him to end his life. Driven on by a power born of desperation, he rolled away just as the tip of the sword buried itself in the dirt. Pulling himself up to his knees, Ranger quickly scanned the surrounding area. A thin trail of smoke divided the sky evenly. Hope exploded in Ranger's bosom and he dodged another attack from the fox. Perhaps the beast who had started the fire was still there... maybe that same beast could help him.

Spinning away from his attacker, Ranger pulled the horn that hung at his belt to his lips and blew one long, enduring blast. Hopefully it would be enough to draw the aid of some kindly beast.

Krowdon

(Got it! Thanks)

Krowdon turned slightly at the sound of a distant horn. Today was turning out to be an interesting day for the Vixen. She grabbed the bag handle and stood there for a second, debating on if she could go to the horn. It could be a trap, or a creature in need. Fighting all her instincts that said no, Krowdon slung the bag over her shoulder and took off running. Perhaps whoever blew the horn would be dead by the time she got there, and she could loot the body, if somebeast didn't beat her to it.

Much against Krowdons hopes, after she arrived in the area the horn had been sounded in, there was a ferret fighting a fox. The fox seemed to have the upperhand in this battle. Wanting to leave, but unable to let herself allow the ferret to die, Krowdon tossed the bag she'd stolen from the camp aside, drew her axe, and did a head on charge towards the burly fox.

Firetooth

Firetooth watched the fox leave. Intrigued, he followed as stealthily as possible, using his sword for support.

As he followed the vixen, he heard the sound of fighting, getting louder as he approached. He slipped behind a tree trunk as the vixen surveyed the scene below. He peeked out from behind the tree, watching a fox and ferret tussling. The vixen suddenly threw down his stolen bag and charged in. A smile started to cross the wildcat's lips. This situation could play to his advantage. Crouching down, he watched and waited for a good opurtunity to set his plan into motion.

Ranger had somehow retrieved his sword and was now defending himself as best he could against his larger opponent. The fox had thrown every last bit of his energy into the attack, and Ranger found himself hard pressed to hold his ground. Then, devoid of warning, the fox dove, thrusting his sword as far as it could go. The tip of the blade punched right through Ranger's leather breastplate and dug itself into his stomach.

Ranger screamed, but as he did, it blended with the war-cry of someone else. It was a female voice, but Ranger could not see who as he toppled backwards, clutching his wounded stomach. The blade had not gone deep, but the searing pain filled his body. The sound of steel on steel sounded again through the area and Ranger, through his groans, caught glimpses of a Vixen—wielding a battleaxe—doing combat with the outlaw.

In seconds, it was over, the fox maiden had hewn off the other fox's head. Ranger paused and waited to see what she would do, his pain making him indifferent to her actions.

Little did he know, a wildcat was watching their every move nearby...

Firetooth

Firetooth watched the scene unfold, not blinking once. As the vixen approached the wounded ferret, he snuck up as quietly as possible, keeping low to the ground, his blade ready. As he neared her, he pointed his sword straight at her and spoke one command.

"Place your weapon on the ground, kick it away and turn around slowly, thief."

The vixen complied, turning to face him. She opened her mouth to speak, but Firetooth prodded her with his blade.

"I'm going to ask questions, you're going to answer. Is that clear?"

The fox replied with a nod.

"Good. I'm looking for important people, those in high places...say, powerful warlords. Could you name any?"

(OOC: I tried to not meddle with Krowdon's character, hence no dialogue from them, but I don't want the whole RP killed due to one boring dialogue. DO people mind if, to an extent, I play out some of people's dialogue for them? Not important things, just things like questions, responses etc. Nothing definitive like "rah Imma kill you!)

Pac-man

Ranger—though his body was racked with pain—knew he had to do something. His rescuer was now being approached by some unknown wildcat... with unknown intentions. Then the feline spoke, pointing his rusty sword at the vixen (who had not yet said a word). The wildcat's voice was silken and smooth, giving the listener a strange, false sense of security.

Regardless of how alluring the voice sounded, however, Ranger gritted his teeth against the pain of the wound in his abdomen and struggled to his feet. With one smooth motion, the ferret pulled his bow from where it was slung over his shoulder and placed the nock of an arrow on the bowstring. The bow gave a slight creak as he pulled it back, ready to fire. Sighting down the arrow, Ranger motioned for the wildcat to step back.

"I suggest y' step back from th' lady, cat. I'm a deadly shot wi' this weapon, y' hear?" Then the small, slender ferret turned his single blue eye to the vixen who had rescued him. "Thank y', miss. I be much obliged. What'd ye like me t' do t' this wildcat?"

((ooc: I'm fine with that, Toothy. As long as you keep it to minor things...))

Firetooth

Firetotoh cursed inwardly, but outwardly gave a soft chuckle. "You've taken some beating, ferret. I doubt you can stay conscious too much longer with such wounds. So it isn't much of a standoff, considering I still have the uppter hand." He cleared his throat. "But maybe you can also answer my question. Either of you, name me a powerful warlord."

Pac-man

Ranger had initially disliked the larger wildcat, but as he listened, Firetooth's voice, which carried an amber resonance, almost drew him into liking the cat. He was not yet sure of the feline's intentions, however, so he could not draw conclusions on the beast. The little ferret lowered his bow a little, but held it up enough to make it clear that he could still shoot the wildcat if he tried anything. Then he raised the eyebrow of his single eye and smirked.

"D' I look li' I could be frens wif a walord? I kin barely keep frens wi' me own family!" ...a pause... "Now what's yer motivation t' ask fer warlords, cat?"

Just then, Ranger began to feel dizzy. The figure in front of him began to get blurry and his grip on his bow relaxed as he lost his balance. His wound was getting to him. He toppled to the ground and dropped his bow. Then he waited for a moment to allow his eyesight to refocus...

Erm I'm sure it'll be cool, but it isn't my rp.

Seizing the oppurtunity, Firetooth rolled to the ground and grabbed the bow, and as he left the roll and got onto his feet, he held the bow, and the arrow that had been it,  in his paws. Sheating his sword, he pointed the bow at the two hostages.

"Now, I'll ask one more time before a stick this arrow into your head" he nodded towards the vixen "and end your sorry existence," this time addressing the ferret. "Warlords, name me some."
