The Lady Shael

You are being sentenced to 20 years on a desert island. All there is on this island is sand and one coconut tree. You get to bring one of each of the following:

-one book
-one movie (assume you have a way to watch it when you get there)
-20-year-supply of one type of food
-someone from RWL to keep you company

Who and what would you bring?

~The Lady Shael Varonne the Benevolent of the Southern Islands, First Empress of Mossflower Country, and Commandress of the Daughters of Delor

RWLers, your wish is my command...as long as it complies with the rules.

Ashyra Nightwing

Oh man. I'd worry about bringing anyone with me cos it might end up being murder time. Hmm.
I guess I'd bring someone with techy skills so we could convert the DVD player into something we could signal for help with. 20 years, jesus.  :P

Krowdon

I would bring:

Book: Gone With The Wind
Movie: Beauty and the Beast (Disney cartoon)
Food: Rice
RWL Member: Quixote Katana
Quote from: Ashyra Nightwingi have work to do and that is why i'm playing rwl, this is how it always works

Neobaron

Theres no book I have read that I feel the need to read again, and any literature I read today I read on the interweb.

Same for movies. Unless I can bring the entire NewsRadio series. Does that count? I can watch that endlessly for some reason.

Rice is a good decision.

Also i'd bring Volkov. He's a jolly individual and if things go bad I could eat him.
Neobaron, first among the lords of the south and captain of the flying skiff

Who goes to war over spam? ohrite, we do. RSL!

Sharptooh

Book: I'd bring a book all about coconut trees and how to grow them so I could learn how to grow multiple coconut trees and then build a boat about them

Movie: Either Inception (for the rewatchability) or Moon (my favorite film, but I don't know if I could watch it again and again for 20 years)

Food: Risotto, that way I get multiple pieces of food in one dish! (although I was very tempted to put Cheese here)

Person: Firetooth, being brothers we get on really well, and I think I could stand 20 years of him day in day out without losing my sanity

SiegeMaster

book: Taggerung i could read that over and over
movie: Hoosers i LOVE IT
Food: any fruit so i could grow something else beside a coconut tree
RWL person: a clone of my self (if i can) so if i think there is a way to get off the island i would send the clone just to be safe

Juska

Book: The Bible
Movie: The Shawshank Redemption
Food: BBQ Ribs
Person from RWL: Shadow - I can never seem to convince him of anything and there's going to be a lot of free time on this island. (Good conversation)

Quixote Katana

Um...I'm not sure about the book...unless it was about various ways to escape a desert island.
Movie? I'm not sure if I could watch any movie over and over again. Unless it talked about how to escape a desert island.
Food...maybe something that could grow on a desert island, like coconuts. No, not coconuts. Apples, perhaps?
Who to bring from RWL...I think it would be either Wise Claw or Krowdon. Or maybe even Shael. I'd probably drive myself crazy with my own singing if I were alone.
Master of House Katana. Warlord of Fort Shadow. Member of the Empire of the Phoenix.
The Last Samurai.

Mr.Grimm

Book: I'd just grab one of my favorites randomly.
Movie: Up in the Air.
Food: Pizza
Person from RWL: A clone of myself.

Shadow

Book: The Bridge, Ian Banks
Movie: I would get a super capacity DVD and put the entire Red Dwarf series on it
Food: Cheese
Person: Holby, so I could make him say things in a silly accent for my amusement

QuotePerson from RWL: Shadow - I can never seem to convince him of anything and there's going to be a lot of free time on this island. (Good conversation)

These answers are funny.  :P

Book: Code Complete 2. I always mean to get around to reading it, but never do. But sentencing me to 20 years on a desert island should definitely to get me to read it. And after I get off the island I will be a coding standards master.

Movie: I wouldn't call it my favorite movie, but The Road to El Dorado (cartoon). That movie never fails to cheer me up, but I might get tired of it after the first 5 years. If I could bring a TV show, I'd probably bring South Park, cause... *calculates* I could watch one episode a month and finish all the episodes in roughly 20 years.

Food: Macaroni and cheese (but the good kind, not Kraft). Although KFC's Mashed Potato bowls are a close second.

Person from RWL: Ashy, cause it seems like nothing is boring with her around  :D

Gen. Volkov

Book: I couldn't bring just one. I'd bring a Kindle.
Movie: Serenity or the first and only season of Firefly, if they'd let me.
Food: Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches. Or at least the ingredients to make them.
Person from RWL: Either Holby, because he makes me laugh and has an awesome accent, or Neo, because he's the only person on this forum that I can talk football with.

Sticker334 says(Peace Alliance): OMG! HOBOES

The Obliterator

Book: Bible
Movie: Can i bring Bleach? If not then i would bring the 3rd Bleach movie.
Food: Oporto I love their burgers
Friend: Probably Shade then i would have a full 20 years to get his age off him. Also there would be some good conversations there.
Watching people fight is fun...
...but getting involved is so much better

Uiblis

Book: Dictionary. I could read that for ages and never get through it.
Movie: I doubt I'd be able to watch it anyway...
Food: Ramen
Person: TS so he can't spam the forums
I love bad [berries] that's my [fruity] problem
