Twilight Shadow

Hey everyone, the forum is starting a new topic dealing with the history of Redwall:Warlords. The name is based off a book series; Redwall written by Brian Jacques. Depending on how active this topic is there will be a decision of the length each discussion/questions will be up before a new topic arrives. And before we start a new one we may possibly making  a small poll discussing which topic could be for the next session.

If you have better ideas on what to do please pm Twilight Shadow, TS, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!

This discussion will be focusing on Introducing the Redwall Series.

Discussion/Questions:

1. Did you ever read a book or books from the Redwall Series?
2. If you did read them, which book was your favorite? Why?
3. If you did not read them, what was your influence of joining a prominence game based of the Redwall Series?
4.If you did not read them, did you ever hear or know about the Redwall Series?

If you need a list of the books pm TS or look them up on the web :D

Have fun Warlords! Thanks for posting!

Twilight Shadow

1. I have read the books.
2. I would say my favorite was Taggerung. The challenge of Danya being taken as a babe and raised up by a gang. Because he was a tough otter and braved through many challenges and was inspiring at the time.

If we use each others post to carry on the discussion it will work out better. But we could be able to relate to each other and possibly make clans for the different books or become friendly and more warring members. Who knows where this could go?

Ok this topic is going to be a slow, but every book basically you read starts out slow and you don't usually start actuall reading the book untila third of the way in. Then you can't put it down thats how I believe these discussion will be for the beginning unless people put effort into it.

Great topic, TS! Thanks for showing the initiative to start it!

Good initial questions!

1. I've read the books up to and including until Loamhedge. Haven't read any of the newer books.
2. My favourite is The Long Patrol. Hares are easily the best species, and having a Hare protagonist made it a fun read. I also felt it moved a bit faster than some of the other books. Otherwise, Redwall, the very first book, is a classic.

I was disappointed with Taggerung. I thought it was an interesting idea for a book, but that switch from vermin to goodbeast was a little smooth for my liking. I like how it goes in Outcast of Redwall with Veil. He's a little more troubled.  :)
I will not deleted this

Twilight Shadow

Why thanks holby :D

Well I have only read Redwall, Mossflower, Mattimeo, The Legend of Luke, Lord Brocktree, Loamhedge and Taggerung. The first two are classic but I think I only picked Taggerung because it was the last one I read. But now that I think about the ones I have read it would definitely be mossflower. I started long patrol but it started a little slow for my liking so i stopped reading it back in the day. I would like to read outcast of redwall just never got to it.  Yeah... I am not sure how Taggerung/Denya would have the initiative to be good after being raised by Sawney Rath, at least I think thats his name . Whatever... its just a good series to read. It is amazing that there are twenty-one books now.

(Oh... And the Great Redwall Feast if that counts for reading haha)

The Obliterator

1. Yeah iv read all of them and i still go back to them
2. I probably think that either the Pearls of Lutra or Mariel are my favorite books
Watching people fight is fun...
...but getting involved is so much better

The Lady Shael

This topic is awesome.

1. Did you ever read a book or books from the Redwall Series?

Yep, I think I've read all of them except for the most recent ones. I own all of them up to High Rhulain, but I don't really remember any of them past Taggerung.

2. If you did read them, which book was your favorite? Why?

I have so many favorites. Redwall, of course, because it's the classic. I loved Pearls of Lutra because of the riddles and the scavenger hunt for the 6 pearls. Mariel of Redwall was my favorite for a long time because it featured a female heroine (bet you all saw that coming). Legend of Luke will always be one of my favorites because it broke the mold for the "stereotypical" Redwall story, and it featured all the lovable characters from Mossflower. Oh and I liked Taggerung because the Juskaclan idea was pretty neat. I've been trying to figure out how to make that into a theme for ages.

This is kind of embarrassing, but I used to run a Redwall info site called the Redwall Database. It was hosted on Geocities, so it has since gone on to a better place, but you can still see parts of it on the wayback machine: http://web.archive.org/web/20061104012607/www.geocities.com/redwalldatabase/home.html

RWLers, your wish is my command...as long as it complies with the rules.

1. Did you ever read a book or books from the Redwall Series?
I have read the entire series and own most of it. It has been one of my favorites for a long time.

2. If you did read them, which book was your favorite? Why?

Taggerung is my favorite. Otters were always my favorite species, so the Otter main character was a bonus. Number 2, It was interesting to me that he was raised by a vermin clan. I like that kind of thing. :3 Other than that, I would have to say I liked all the others the same except for The Long Patrol. Couldn't really get into that one.  :(

Firetooth

1. Read every book except the last two, stopped because they got repetitive.

2. I loved most of them, favourite is probably the original or pearls of lutra, for their originality and vibrant characters. (Romsca, the owl whose name I forgot, think it was Gerrad, and Ublaz) High Rhulain, Mariel of Redwall (and the bellmaker) as well as Lord Brocktree and sunflash the mace are all good as. Least favourite's probably Salamandastrom...I had high hopes for it, but it was cliche, dull and had no real interesting characters. The artwork inside was completely awful as well, though I admit the cover was cool.

I'm currently in top position by a huge margin BUT I'm intentionally dropping down to the bottom.
