I already have, but I guess I will do so again. Many people see you as a loud-mouth who rides other, better player's coat-tails. So people's attitude towards you ranges from annoyance to outright dislike. But the reason you get ripped on all the time is not because of what you do in the game. It's the way you act in the forums. Stop being a loud-mouth braggart so much, and people might warm up to you. However, I do not think anyone actually hates you here. If they do, they are idiots, because when all is said and done, it's just a game, and no one has actually done anything physical to anyone else.

My opinion is rarely with the majority. Unlike most people I don't feel the need to fit it. I have my friends and family. I don't need any approval from others. You are, in some respects right about me. I do sort of ride the coat-tails of others. Not because I am an absolutely terrible player, but only because we are talking about probably the two best players today at this game, meaning Snare and Volkov. I am a team player, it's the setting I like best. Although two months ago I placed 2nd as a solo indy at Valhall Classic Battle, which I might add is a much harder feat then at RWL Turbo. The only reason I was beat was because the top guy was aided up there. Thanks Oblit, your a champ as well, but of course you already know that. ;)

And well Snare you deserve the most credit out of anybody for my prowess in every aspect of this game. You taught me most of what I know. Sevz taught me a few of those tricks that few people know. Again, knock us if you will, but we ALWAYS produce results.

Alazars a well decorated player and an open minded strategist.  The best ally i've ever had. Unselfish and effective with initiative. Solo Alazar can play as good as any.

QuoteActually Volk, that's just your opinion of Ally, don't pretend to know what you are talking about.

Actually Snare, that's far from "just my opinion" of him. I'm more or less quoting several other players when I say that. Besides, I like Ally fine, and having worked with him in the past, I know that he is a good player.

Quote
He is a great player and stands strong for what he believes in, you can chirp him for it but he's a [haties] of alot more efficient than you've ever been in a team setting.

Debatable. However, you are rather ignoring the rest of what I said, which is the real reason many people don't like or are annoyed by Ally. How well he does in a team setting or how good of a player he actually is just isn't relevant.

QuoteMy opinion is rarely with the majority. Unlike most people I don't feel the need to fit it. I have my friends and family. I don't need any approval from others.

Unless you are a sociopath, you do. You just don't feel you need the approval of select people here on RWL. What you are really doing however, is creating a victim mentality, and then reinforcing it with your posts on the forums, and your conversations with the people whose approval you do want.

You probably meant Sevz there. If you really meant me, thanks.

I was aware of that. However, I disagree that taking 2nd at Valhall as a solo Indy is harder than doing so here at RWL Turbo. The game mechanics here encourage team play for indies, whereas they encourage solo play at Valhall.

getting second in valhall with a solo indy is lunacy. The game over there is designed for magers (leaderers)

The only time an Indy race has won at valhall classic battle was when myself and Kitty were teamed up, i ran drow (leaders with no indy bonus but indying anyway) she was indy, the networth we won with was only a bit higher than Alazars solo score. The races over there are balanced. Here, a rat has +40% indy bonus and -60% costs, that's over unlimited stoats if you have a few camps at the right time. Your logic is incorrect Volkz.
He's a top bloke aswell.

Unlimited stoats is pretty much the only way to keep up with leaders for a month. I think it's balanced well here. Indys should be able to win here and there. Especially the emp rounds, because the land augments so much. If the land pool is stagnant for the whole game no Indy would stand a chance against a leader.

Death

Yeah that indy 2nd at Valhall was nuts, the guy is going to break my record if he keeps up. Just from what I have experienced at RWL it's a lot harder there, especially given the whole gamer versus enthusiast thing.

Thanks much bro. You're not too bad yourself. ;)

Well Volky what I should of said is that I don't seek to impress people here. I don't really care what they think of me. Have I ever really faltered off of how I act? In real life I care about family, friends, good lookin females, and bosses....Oh and I did mean Sevz, not that your too bad yourself, but Sevz is pretty amazing.

As an indy in both places, it is actually may be much harder here to get 2nd place. At valhall, it is extremely hard just to get a 2nd place finish anyways, and thats usually with a team working together...

Trust me I like RWL and everything, its where I started, but Valhall is more interesting for me to play. More of a challenge, and you can try a new race every month of the year and be competitive with it if you  know what you're doing. The real difference is the interactions and forums here. To be honest I like the players better over here. They just aren't nearly as good, and the codes just don't quite match up. This place really needs some new races, we must be the only site that does not have a farmer, or casher race. Or just one indy race...

I thought marten was casher, and wolf was farmer? Maybe I'm wrong though.

When they say farmer they mean a race that makes food without being dependent on leaders, and the same for the casher. Marten makes cash and Wolf makes food, but they are both leader strategy races.

We do have more than one indy race, though, Alazar. Lizard works as well, although it is not good as good at netting as rat.

Ally, you act much differently these days than you did even as few as 6 months ago, in my opinion anyway. As for Sevz, I figured that's what you meant.

I was just going off my experience in both places. I think indiers have an easier time going it solo over there than they do here. I am right about the game design though. Valhall is more oriented towards solo play.

Meh, I've heard a lot of excuses for this happening, but in my opinion the whole "RWL players aren't as good" argument doesn't hold water with me. RWL won the Clan Competition when we decided to play there en masse. I'm not saying we are better, but if our elite players can take on their elite players and win, well, it means we are at least as good as the players at Valhall.

Mabey we should do it again sometime.
I reckon it could be fun.
Watching people fight is fun...

Alazar is Back

Well obviously I am growing older and changing a bit as I age...

As for valhall being more of a solo environment, you are right in some respects. Not many people clan for the fear of being killed, but almost everyone there works in teams. It is no different then here.

Lizard is a worthless indy race. There is a reason why noone uses it. You do NOT understand what I mean. Go to valhall and look at their race charts, and then you will understand.

We may work better as a team yes, one against one valhall players shut down players here. You also have to realize that many of these players that I call Valhall players go under the QMT flag during clan competitions as well as other places.

Yeah Pip, you go to any other promi sites and they have farmers and cashers. They make ALOT more then a wolf or marten would, but they don't have much leader protection. In this "team" environment we have here it would really really be a nice fit to the code.

I wouldn't call valhall players much better tbh, though they do have one or two people who are pretty pro. For the most part they're just much more ruthless and much less "omg why u attackz me?!" then here. Not that that's a good thing-I prefer here often, because you don't have to worry quite as much about defence :)

Ally, Lizard has it's advantages. Don't whine if you don't know how to use them-it's a better indy race then rat on the defensive, for one thing, and their power is also more useful.

I am not "whining". I am simply stating that if you want to compete as an indy, noone smart will use a lizard. There is a reason that ALMOST everyone uses rat. Actually everyone in turbo at the moment is a rat. Hmmm...I wonder why? You have played at Valhall so you of all people talking should understand what I mean by different indy races.
