Do you accept Holby's authority?

Yes
No

Accepting authority does not imply autonomy. Rather, it is that you accept Holby as the legitimate authority in the game right now.

He came to power through force, he is a tyrant, and therefore has no legitimacy in rule.

I think that pretty much defines every emp the game has ever had.

How did Rome become a world power? They just killed people, took land, and rule under an iron fist. that's how everyone got into a long-time power since civilization began.

Not exactly. Rome ruled alot of it's Empire by proxy. That is, governments that owed tribute to them, but were not directly ruled by Rome. They were also fairly gentle when in came to ruling over people. They crushed rebellions without mercy, but they generally let people keep their culture and traditions, and even their own government as long as that government didn't try to rebel against Rome's rule.

I tend to find chaos more entertaining than order ( Holby, SS and Fairmaid have kind of put order into place) but to stay alive I go with the flow. I'm interested to see if it maintains like this for a long time (I think it will to be honest). I just don't know if it's possible in game to do anything to a group that powerful and full of veteran players.
Earl was the Anglo-Saxon form and jarl the Scandinavian form of a title meaning "chieftain" and referring especially to chieftains set to rule a territory in a king's stead.

If everyone else banded together Im sure they could but I dont see that happening any time soon.

Tyrannical authority is legitimate. It's not appreciated, but it's legitimate.
