Losses are out of proprtion where desertions are concerned

In a recent attack, 3% of my troops deserted due to fear, and 3 million died in the attack, but my troops dropped from 57 million to 43 million. In no math system is that 3% losses.

I have yet to determine if losses in regular battles without desertions are out of whack, but I will get back on that one soon.

They are, and always have been.

I have lost 95% of my troops in a single attack on multiple occasions.

Losses are reported wrong - during attacks I did the arithmetic, I was regularly losing twice as much as reported.

You seem to lose an amount that is not proportioanl to your own troops - if you have very few troops, you can easily lose all of them in one shot despite losses reporting only about 10% of them gone.

i worked out a decent amount about this, priorities first. I'll report what i know when changes are ready to be made.
a small hint for everyone who doesn't understand what or why

hit with as few troops as needed to break. No point sending in 10million troops to break nothing.

Coding out holes in the game is the best way to do things.
Relying an the admins to patrol is a) time consuming for the admins in question b) unreliable c) only invites conflict
There is no conflict or "I didn't know any better!" excuses with a coded in rule.
