I say this not as an opinion, but as a fact: without the oscilloscope we would not have video games. One fateful day in 1958, William Higinbotham was really bored. So he busted out the oscilloscope and programmed himself up what was ultimately the predecessor of Pong, a 2d tennis game. He did it on a frigging oscilloscope. Too bad he got emphysema. You may have been a smart one, but smoking kills even those. You will be greatly missed, oh father of modern gaming.
